What are you planning to knit/crochet for your baby? I want to make some wool soakers and a sweater. I'm thinking cotton so he/she can wear it through the summer.
My 9yo dd is excited to crochet a blanket for the baby but first wants to find out if its a boy or girl.

I wish I could knit

I'm a pretty amateur knitter, but would like to make some soakers and maybe some longies. I think I'll sew some recycled sweater soakers, too.

As usual, my knitting plans are much greater than my knitting time. Since I'm in Chicago, and don't take my jacket off until the second week of June some years, I'll be knitting nb longies. I also plan to knit soakers with matching leg warmers (I have some sock weight and worsted yarn in matching colorways). I also have plans for 2 BSJ's with matching longies. How much of this will come to fruition is anyone's guess! Lastly, I want to knit some kimonos and tee's. Oh, and a silk pilot cap. Finally, something to do with my Sea Silk!

I have grand plans to knit a Moderne Log Cabin Baby Blanket after getting my Christmas gifts out of the way. But honestly I haven't been able to make progress on anything for at least two weeks. I've had to frog everything due to my spaceyness. The mistakes have been unfixable. So we'll see, it might end up being a few washcloths in garter stitch.

i'm not sure. i'll probably do some small things like socks, booties, thumbless mittens, hats, etc...

i don't think i'll be CD this time around....but i do love longies so maybe i'll make some of those anyway. lol

i'm so so so sick of making blankets though. LMAO i feel like riley SHOULD have a homemade blanket, but...omfg. the thought of making it just...AAGH! lol

i have so many knitting orders to fill before xmas though (i make finger puppets) that i'm not sure if i'll have much time until january!!

I forgot about recycled soakers! hmm, might have to go to the thrift store today for some wool sweaters.

I already started a crocheted soaker. I'd love to knit a sweater but I'm still fairly new to knitting. I figure we've got plenty of time!

Well I started a WHW wrap with some of my homespun and I have plans for a couple sweaters, some longies, socks, hat, blanket, and sleep sack! I seriously doubt I will finish all of them but what the heck, I gotta start somewhere!

Right now I'm working on finishing a maternity sweater for me, then I have a turquoise blue blanket, a hat, and a bonnet. I've already got a pair of booties and mitts that I had made for a couple from church who ended up losing their baby.
I'm sure I'll add to this list, but it remains to be seen whether I'll get it all done by April with a very active 2 year old to chase after!

yay for knitters!!!

I can't wait to knit up some newborn longies and shorties! Probably more soakers and shorties though, since little one will be born in Spring, but at least one pair of longies for cool nights.

I'd like to knit some little toys too. We already have some beautiful blankets that were given to us with dd, so we don't need more, and I like projects that don't take too long, lol. I have a patience problem.

Casseipoia: YUP!

I'll probably only manage a soaker or two. I like to knit, but I don't make too much time for it (due to my patience problem!), because I've always got so many other projects on the go.

I knit, but I've been real unmotivated lately.

same here. unmotivated. if I started knitting again it would cut into my MDC time!! but its gonna be a long winter. I bet I can this year since I don't have a nursling hanging off me.

A few more pairs of longies and a couple umbilical hats will probably do it for me.

I haven't found the time to knit in several months, but I plan on a few newborn hats. There is nothing cuter than a hand-knit little hat!!

I can knit a scarf, that's about it . I have saved a ton of lambswool sweaters over the last year to make into soakers. I have one cashmere turtleneck that I'm going to make into a sleep sack for the baby. How soft will that be! I'm not sure if I should try to felt it or not. I want it to look something like this. I think I'm also going to con my mom into making some light-weight crocheted soakers for the summer.

I'm hoping to make some longies or soakers. I had lots of grand plans during my last pregnancy to knit all kinds of wonderful things, but ended up not being able to knit much at all. For whatever reason (relaxin?) it became very painful to knit while pregnant. It really hurt my back between my shoulder blades. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to knit this time!

I knit and crochet (and needle-felt and dye and sew and weave, too, lol -- basically, if it's a fiber, I'm all over it! ) Last time around, I made a ton of newborn soakers and then shorts and longies for later on. But my productivity really slowed in the third trimester b/c I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrists and that made it well-neigh impossible to hold the needles.

Since Sophie's birth, I have been a major slacker, lol -- I belong to a knitting group that meets weekly, and did get a few projects done in Fall/Winter of last year (socks, felted clogs, a scarf, and needle-felted some toys), but then petered out towards Spring and stopped completely over the Summer.

So...all that to say, it's time to get moving again. This time around, I want to knit a few adorable baby sweaters, and maybe some more soakers (depends on baby's sex, which I confess we always find out ahead of time; if it's a boy, then we need more wool, if it's another girl, we're pretty much already set.)

And then there is my perpetual knitting project to get back to: making all my kids "Weasley" sweaters. I just might finish it before they leave home, lol!

If anyone has a relatively easy bootie pattern or a nice blanket pattern, please pass on. I am hoping the extra knitting for new baby will help ease some of my anxiety and worry!

I'm a terrible knitter, so big things like shorties and soakers I'll probably just be looking for wool sweaters to cut up. But I'm planning on trying a hat or two, maybe a simple blanket if I'm feeling antsy.
