Back to work, baby refusing to nurse

Hi Everyone.

I am in tears. My dd is almost three months and I really think that she has "decided" that she is not going to nurse anymore. I went back to work three weeks ago and our bf relationship has really begun to suffer. I pump my milk at work and nurse her as much as she is willing to at night. To be honest we have had nothing but trouble from the get go, but the past few days have been especially challenging. She has been consistantly refusing to nurse and screaming bloody murder until I give up and give her a bottle of breast milk. I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that she is fed her milk through a bottle while I am at work, or if it has something to do with one of our other issues. So far I have struggled with low supply, we have both had thrush from the moment we came home from the hospital, and dd doesn't seem to be gaining weight very well (she was 7lbs 7oz at birth and is now 11lbs 9oz at three months). She has always kind of acted funny at the breast, almost as if she is uncomfortable. She pulls, whimpers, and pops off repetedly and then acts like she is not satisfied. She has pretty normal poops and I have already eliminated dairy and eggs from my diet in hopes that maybe the problem has to do with the foods that I eat but that hasn't helped. I am really worried and DO NOT want to loose my bf relationship with my sweet baby. I think if worst came to worst I would be willing to exclusivly pump so that I would at least be feeding her my milk, but I really don't know how long that would last and that would still make me so sad. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

s Aww, mama, it sounds like you are going through a nursing strike, maybe precipitated by baby prefering the fast flowing bottle to the breast. Any chance you can have someone finger feed or cup feed while you are at work? If not, this handout can help breastfed babies take a bottle in a way that is less likely to cause a preference: http://www.kellymom.com/store/freeha...le_feeding.pdf

kellymom also has good nursing strike info: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/...to-breast.html
