Doppler

Hi All,
I have a silly question. I'm going for my first check up next week. I will be 12 weeks then (this is my 4th child). I'm planning on having a HB for the first time. If you are having twins, should the doppler be able to pick this up at this point? I don't plan on having an ultrasound this time around so I'm just curious.

I think it has more to do with the trained ear of your care provider than the doppler. A doppler should be able to find the heartbeat about 12 weeks. If your care povider isn't listening good they could miss it. My MW have caught it for 2 women that I know at 4 months

DH asked my midwife about this at my appt yesterday (10w 5d) because I was on clomid and he is freaked out about twins. She said she could almost certainly rule it out because the baby was centered right in the middle, and I would be bigger. She's been doing this for a long time and seemed confident. I guess at later appointments when she actually starts taking measurements and you can start feeling baby parts poking out, that will confirm for sure.
