Does anyone want a really sweet cat?

Hi! Is anyone around Chicago looking to add a very sweet little kitty to your family?

We have a wonderful 2 year old black (With white on the chest) female cat who we aren't going to be able to keep. I don't really want to take her back to the shelter....I'd rather find her a good home.

She is amazingly sweet. She loves to cuddle. She has never scratched us or been rough. All she wants to do is curl up on your lap. She has been wonderful with my two year old. Never ending patience. She loves to come by him and lets him pet her and even drive his trucks on her!

She uses the litter box with no problems and is very easy going. She uses the scratching post. She is actually my idea of the perfect cat.

The reason that we have to get rid of her is that my two year old actually will not tolerate her and it is making life very stressful. She gives no reason for him to do this (she is actually very sweet to him)...it's just his personality. He can't stand to have her by him. And we have just found out that we are expecting another baby and I don't think I can handle everything at the same time.

I'm sad that this situation didn't work out for our family. She is a lovely cat and would be good for any family or single person. A family with kids would be fabulous as well.

Let me now- we'll probably try to find a family for a few days before we have to take her to the shelter. Thanks!

I wish I could take her but I can't

I just wanted to ask if you'd please not take her to just any old shelter. My heart aches for the cats who are dropped off and are later put to sleep because they are older cats. Not many people want adult cats. There are several places in the city who will care for (and not kill) kitty until a new home is found. You might have to check with a few until you find a place with the space.

Aw thanks. No worries about that. We got her from the anti-cruelty society and they have you sign something saying you'll bring them back if you can't keep them. They don't put animals to sleep there. After an incredibally horrible day with the cat and ds, dh took her back yesterday evening and filled out a really good recommendation sheet for her. I really hope that she will find a wonderful home. If anyone is looking for a GREAT cat- she is there and her name is Twiggy. Such a sweet kitty.

If I was you I'd call and ask about their euthenasia policy. If it's true I'd demand her back, or adopt her back, and take her elsewhere. I'm not in Chicago or I'd help you find a place or take her in.

Any updates?

Were you able to get your cat back and take her somewhere else? Like a pp stated they are not a no kill shelter.
Not to get you really worried but the ACS in Chicago is actually an awful operation. Just do a google search and you'll read some awful stuff about that place. Mostly that they don't have pets in mind but are more interested in $ and how unorganized/rude they are.

I hope your kitty is ok
