Birth plans

Has anyone finished their birth plans?

This is my first birth and I am feeling the intense urge to get prepared. I will be giving birth in a hospital and want to avoid unnecessary interventions and medications. My dr is totally onboard, but I feel like I need to be prepared with a clear birth plan in order to cope with the hospital staff. I am almost 34 weeks ... am I way behind? I would love it if anyone feels comfortable sharing their birth plan, as I need some ideas!

My birth plan is the same this time as it was with me first.

In the end, I want a healthy baby.

It saved me from being disappointed when I had to transfer to the hospital and had some stuff that under normal circumstances I wouldn't have done.

Go ahead and write down your preferences on paper, but don't be discouraged if things go a bit differently. You never know what will happen during labor. There are some websites that help with making one.

Illaria - I'm around the same stage as you and haven't done a birth plan yet. Like you, I'll be birthing in a hospital - with a midwife - and also want to write down some things. I'd like to request things such as hospital staff knocking before entering and that pain relief not being brought up by anyone except me (hoping to go without)....
