lol I THOUGHT the castor oil worked until I realised that no I wasn't feeling crampy because of the castor oil (prune juice and one package of licorice) but the contractions were comming and going.....

needless to say after 3 hours and one minute of labour...
Little man has arrived! Went into active labour about 12:15
Gave birth at 3:19..

THANKGOD I AM ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Will post story soon.

Happy Hospital Midwife Birth - no nurses no doctors no drugs...

So at about quarter to midnight I started feeling more than crampy. I called my midwife at 12:15 but she'd been through a hellish day and had not slept...said call me in an hour have a glass of wine or gravol and go to sleep..

I hung up the phone with her a little miffed....and was shortly doing the hip sway while holding onto whatever I could find dance...dh took this as a sign that my contractions were no longer just tummy but the real thing. He said let's just go to the hospital as he couldn't see waiting an hour...and see what the nurses said as my midwife was so exhausted she said call one of the back ups.

I get to the hospital (all kids in tow) only to find out that 2 of my backups are there! Three midwives from the practice as it was babyboom fullmoon! So I couldn't have had my home birth anyhow!

I am only 2cm, and 50% effaced at -3 station (GREAT...regression)
SO I said time to walk..didn't get far and I am ass up on all fours while the kids are laughing at mommy doing the barking dog manouver. Went back to room, got in tub, got out of tub, in tub out of tub, in tub out of tub...while peeing and thinking I was going to poo...except sitting on toilet made contractions more intense so I was trying to poo standing up and hit the toilet - damn I got no shame and great aim.

My nieghbour drove over at 2am to watch the boys as they were distracting me and SUPER excited...everything was a question...and you know answering why is there so much blood, why is mommy in pain, and barking like a dog....so he came and kept them in the waiting room...feeding them candy bars = yep at 2am...

by 2:30 I got to four cm dilated but 100% effaced and -2 station.
I was so diheartened...and started to doubt myself...when I got to 6cm dilated I asked for my membranes to be ruptured as the bulging membrane thing was so INTERESTING ...like you need more pressure in odd places...she broke it and it was clear (THANK GOD especially after my adventures in castor oil!

I started BEGGING For drugs of any type at 3:16 (can we say transition?) she checked me gave me some bullsh*t that drugs would take 20minutes and I'd have to be hooked up to the monitors ...I never realised how HORRIBLE those straps were...
I tried to rip them off....she checks me at 2:17 (I know this as she gave m my birth notes!)
I was 10cm, 100% effaced 2 station...

I had a 3 minute stage two!
I started pushing and in two pushes he was clear out!!
Placenta came out shortly after..

Baby was born at 3:19 at 7lbs 3oz.
Feeding like a champion.
No name solidified yet...I need to make that decision with sleep and food in me! Great Labour and Delivery nurse quote who said something to the effect when you see what kids are named you got to really question drugs in labour add in emmotions, sleep deprivation..you don't always get well thought out names! Middle name will be Hezekiah after my dad...but what we will call him name I am really thinking of Eli, Elio, Leo, Elliot...my godmothers 80th birthday is today and her name is Elly....

We went home at 6am feeling GREAT. I had pee'd he had poo'd...
A few after pains, he's such a great nurser he's really got my uterus back down to baseball size....OUCH.

He's been just sleeping and eating and barely any crying.
Midwives are comming over tonight sometime (*WITH CURRY TAKE OUT)...my husband was amazing support...midwife said I was just built for having babies...but alas this is the last one and its so nice to go out with a BANG!

Dh was my rock who when I got feeling low and asking for drugs lol with three minutes to go...he reminded me how natural birth was the fastest recovery possible, I had zero low blood pressure issues, found that monitoring (even for the two minutes it was on) so painfully intrusive...and now that he's getting better at knowing how to distract me and support me it made the contractions so much easier..I also liked being touched this labour... which is odd compared to the last three labours...I feel like myself again! I am so happy not to be pregnant...its so odd to think that yesterday this time I could feel his feet poking me and now he's sleeping right here beside me!

It was so nice to have a picture perfect labour for my last birth!
Pictures dh did take some, and put them up on the webserver...or rather is still doing that! Apgar scores were 9 and 10. No complications, no coneheading (crap he barely visited my vagina canal..)

funny enough my LMP date of August 16th WAS CORRECT only in that I had him on that date but he was a little early with some vernix, flat ears, but not much body hair...so probably he was about 38-39 weeks...but he's perfect I am in love, breastfeeding again makes me feel like I have purpose...although my middle son pointed out you know mom yogurt is healthier than milk - ha ha...he's three....
