My husband made it home from Iraq on Monday the 11th and I went in to the hospital for a planned induction on Wednesday morning the 13th. The reason we planned an induction is that my husband is only home for 14 days and I wanted to make sure to have the baby while he was home and have him be able to bond with baby and help me out a few days.
I was only 2cm when I was first checked at 7 am, then only 4cm at 9 when the doctor broke my water. But then at 10:30 I was complete and after pushing through only 2 contractions I had my son, our first boy after 3 daughters, just before 11 am! The labor (epidural) and delivery (no tears) were very easy and we were so excited and shocked to see little boy parts!
We named him Jack Matthew, after my husband, and he was 7lbs 4ozs and 18 1/2" long. We came home 24 hours later and everything is going pretty well, although I was exhausted this morning after a rough night. My milk is coming in great today and he nurses wonderfully!
