ooooooh i am! i am!!!!!

omg it is fascinating, riveting, unputdownable. i have so far had time to read the first one fourth of the book. if i could i would have loved to have read it in one setting.

after i read a few pages and i have to return to earth, it takes me a while to get back.

its not a book you could say i love it. nor a book you could say you hate it. its kinda a bit of both.

oh his language. his language. his description of the food is just sheer poetry.

a really amazing book - esp. for a first time author. makes me want to meet him and get into his head. but oh boy. never date him. too deep too dark for me!!!

meemee, haha i know what you mean, i made sure i didn't read anything right before falling asleep! The book just sucked me in, i was dying to know what was going to happen next and thought that the interwoven stories were so poetic, tragic and powerful. I hope the author has more ideas waiting to be drawn out!

Warning don't read the following until you've read the end or enjoy knowing ahead of time like me LOL:
Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
If you saw the movie “KPAX”, this story reminded me of that a great deal (with the ambiguity between whether Kevin Spacey's character was an alien or dealing with mental illness). I couldn't decide if Marianne really was from other times with many memories or had made the stories up due to her illness. I loved that the story left that up to the reader to ponder. I also found it very uplifting the hope that was woven into the book; the main character was going to commit suicide and had nothing to live for and by the end was a completely different person, with a story to tell and purpose in his life

well i sure am glad i didnt see this earlier. at first i checked this thread often and then forgot. see i am one of those people who doesnt and does want to know the ending first. so i would be at a quandry. and had i read it before i finished the book i would be kicking myself for reading it.

you know but i must say the book did get a little long winded for me. towards the end i was speed reading.

its been compared with life of pi. perhaps in the philosophical sense - the idea of god. but OMG its soooooooo not like life of pi.
