MDC'ers in the Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill/Concord area??

I hope there are some out there! We just moved to the area. I've been scanning threads for peds, chiros, etc., but I also just wanted to see if anyone was around and if you wanted a new friend? Maybe a playdate? We're always at parks on my days off, and it would be nice to have a kindred spirit. Also, I wanted to know if anyone wants to go in on a Klean Kanteen order with me. I know they don't do co-ops, so that's out. But I need 10 of them, and their discounted rates start at 20. If there are people within easy driving distance who need them, it's a good opportunity for a discount!

Hey mama, I know we're not exactly right around the corner but there is a huge and active community of MDC type mamas now in the Tri-Valley...San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, etc. If you're in Walnut Creek, it's not too bad of a drive. We have park days in San Ramon (sometimes Danville) every week, in addition to many other activities. Oh, and we do have a whole co-op program where we go together to get things like Kleen Kanteens!! We did a coop through Reusable Bags a few months ago, for instance (and they carry KK...). We have a Frontier Coop too - will help you save money in the pricey Bay Area If you want more info, check out holisticmoms.org (Tri-Valley chapter) - and of course, feel free to PM me. Oh, and we do have a few members up that way that might be able to carpool with you...

Welcome to the Bay Area!

I'm in Walnut Creek. We're kind of mainstream though.

If you want a good park recommendation for little kids, check out Walden Park It's on Oak Road between Walden Rd. and Jones Rd, a couple of blocks south of Pleasant Hill BART. It's pretty quiet, lots of shade, restrooms and drinking fountain. I know a lot of people who don't even realize that Walden Park exists, because there is no sign out front.

We live in Antioch but spend a lot of time in concord! There are a lot of us that meet every every thursday @ 10am @ the toy lot by the concord Library!

Another good place I have found other AP moms is at local LLL meetings. I go to the pittsberg/Antioch chapter but I know the concord/PH meets in WC!

Feel free to show up thursday! Ill be late to the park but there should be lots of us there!

I'd love to get together for some park time! I'm still sorely lacking is East Bay mama friends!

OH, YAY! I hadn't checked this thread in several days...I'm so GLAD to know there are some MDC mommas around me!! Thanks for the recommendations, too! And I'll definitely check that site, Briannasmom...thank you! I'm a little limited on days that I can be out and about, since I'm working nights and all (have to sleep during the day), but it would be awesome to meet some of you on the days that I CAN be conscious during the day.

Motherearthdancer...are you still thinking of going to the Ygnacio Library tomorrow? I'm gonna call in the morning and see if I can still register. I really think my 2yo would love it. Anyways if you see this post and make it, I'll have a little babe in probably a blue or brown pouch sling and a rambunctious toddler named Aiden.

If not I'm gonna try to come to the Thursday park day. I really need some new mama friends.

Lildevil, we didn't register so I think we are just going to go to todo Santos park in concord & enjoy the music & farmers market. If you want to swing by on the way back from WC we should be there from around 10-2ish. I usually wear my hair in 2 braids with a head scarf & I have a brown & black ring sling. We will have a blanket near the playstructure.

If we don't meet tomorrow, we will be at the concord Library toys @ 10 on thursday! Hope to meet you then!

I usually am at the farmers market...lol I'm 99% positive I've seen you.

I'm gonna call the Library in the morning and see what they say. Either way I'll probably swing by Todos Santos for a bit.
