What indoor shoes, slippers?

My DD is going to Montessori first time in September. They told us to bring a set of clothes and a pair of indoor shoes-slippers. What do you use in terms of slippers? What should I look for? Do you have any recommendations? Thank you.

When my son was in preschool they just wanted shoes that wold only be worn indoors and tht the child could put on themselves. Crocs, merrils were what most people used at that age. The children simply slipped them on and off

DS wears Crocs for indoor shoes. Alot of the other kids wear them too. I also see alot of character slippers.

Here's a link to the same question I had a few weeks back.

This is what we ended up buying: www.plateauproducts.com
They look incredibly comfortable, they are all hand-made, shipping is free, and a part of the proceeds goes to a widow house in the Tibetan foothills. They took about a month to arrive, though.

Otherwise, we have liked Robeez in the past, and there are others mentioned on that link. Good luck!

No characters allowed at our school, my son uses crocs, as do many of the other children.

All of the classrooms in our school just have the children wear socks while inside. If you need actual shoes, I would also recommend Crocs or Robeez. I also like the Robeez Tredz since they are hard soles, but very flexible and comfortable. I would think sitting on a work rug wearing hard shoes would be really uncomfortable. One of the teachers actually wears a very cute pair of bedroom slippers.

These are the ones we got for DS.

Some of the kids in his class last year wore bedroom slippers with big character heads which made it a harder to work on the floor. The teacher used DS slippers as an example of what kind to get.

thank you

Thank you, ladies, for all the answers.
I did check the other thread, Rose-Roget, thank you. I didn't know it was there.
In our school they do not allow any characters either. Also, they require indoor shoes/slippers that the child can easily put on/take off.
I went to Target yesterday, and couldn't find any slippers for children. Is it a seasonal item? What does that mean? It should be in stores now, right? Winter is approaching.
I guess I might end up with Crocs, although I would have liked to find something made of cloth, like canvas or something. Those Tibetan shoes look great, and such a great cause. I'll think about those, although I don't think she'll be able to put them on by herself.

We have the Tibetan Plateau shoes and LOVE them. They are similar in design to Robeez and my fairly uncoordinated 3.5 year old can get them on himself fine. Another bonus that I have noticed about those is that it isn't horribly obvious or uncomfortable if he puts them on the wrong feet (which he often does).

We had Robeez at first, but they weren't easy for DS to put on. So, I got him Crocs instead and they work great. He can just slip them on without having to sit down to pull them on. Lots of kids at school have Crocs. We also have LL Bean fleece slippers too and use those in the winter sometimes.

I just got him the navy blue ones and didn't think about the fact that other kids might have them. The kid with the cubby next to his had the exact same pair (same size and color). So I had to get him some Jibbitz to put in his so they'd be able to tell them apart easily! I didn't really want to buy Jibbitz for them, but that seemed like the easiest solution to tell them apart.

My list says my DD needs rubber soled slippers. I haven't even started looking and I dread doing so, as she has wide feet and it can be hard to find things that fit her.

we were asked to get rubber soles because of spilled water. We went with crocs. He picked them out himself, and asked for the dark purple ones. We've also been told no jibbitz because they want the kids to not focus on what is on each other's feet.

We have slippers with a rubber sole for our children for this year. They have a velcro flap to put on and off. We have also used crocs in the past and robeez the first year. After the first year, we realized that something with a waterproof sole was ideal since the needed to go outside sometimes for fire drills.

One of the teachers also noted that some of the lined slippers can get really HOT so to avoid those if possible.

My dd will be wearing pink fleece boot slippers from The Children's Place.

We have a similar slippers w/ rubber soles and no characters policy. I ordered these http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/19473856/c/69987.html from Zappos and they came today and are perfect for my kids.

Well I was going to go with crocs also, but just got my school's dress code and NO croc's or character slippers...so it's a good thing I waited!
We are going with regular slippers that my uncle gets through an event called Shaker's in the Woods...they run about $25, but it will work!

I haven't ordered them yet, but I was thinking about getting these for my kids this year.

I really wanted to make slippers a fundraiser for our parent org, but I couldn't find anything that would work on that front, it would need to at least be orderable with a bulk discount.

I used ballet slippers for DD this year. I looked ALL over for slippers her size (she's 3), and I couldn't find anything local. I'm going to order some of the slippers that Turtlecouple posted! Thanks!

we have used soft stars for my daughter and she has always loved them. last year we got the kind with a rubberized sole, but even without, she can wear them outside, so if they have to leave in a hurry it won't hurt the shoe and their feet stay cozy and dry. i can't recommend them more!
