Any "customer reviews" of Thumbusters?

Dd is 5 and is talking more and more about trying to suck her thumb less.

She primarily sucks her thumb as she's falling asleep, but also when she's tired and watching TV, or sick. I do NOT want to force her to stop, but she has been talking about wanting to stop and has asked for ideas.

Anyone have any luck with Thumbusters? http://stopthumbsucking.net/

I have never tried this product, but I think it might be a bad idea...
Your DD may think that your buying it means you really wish she wouldn't suck her thumb anymore. If the product is uncomfortable for her, or doesn't work in the time she "thinks" it should, she may feel like she has let you down. Which may make her suck her thumb more...

Just reasure her that she will naturally stop on her own when she's ready! Thumbs are just like a security blanket or favorite teddy, some kids need them longer than others.
Good luck!!!

I hear what you're saying. I told her that she can keep sucking her thumb if she wants to. But she asked ME for help with how to suck her thumb, so with regards to her being "ready" it seems like she is. I told her that she can keep sucking her thumb if she wants to.

I saw thumbsusters listed somewhere else on MDC (can't find it now) and was showing them to her online. She immediately got excited about it and asked me to get one for her. I asked her when she would wear it, and she said that "just for starters" she wants to use it at school. I wouldn't encourage her to use it if she didn't want to.

Thumbubsuckers

My grand daughter wanted to stop sucking her thumb. I paid $15 + tax and shipping for this and she loved it and it was working. We have had it 4 days, washed it by hand once and it is falling apart! The Velcro is not working anymore, and it coming apart.

It is not worth it in my opinion. :
