Looking for a GOOD doc...(south FL)

Hi everyone! I'm new to the mothering forum. A little background info on me. I was pregnant and had an ectopic pregnancy. On July 26th I was in the ER because of pain and they had to remove my left fallopian tube along with the baby because it had ruptured and I went into shock. I lost half my blood and I'm still recovering. My problem is I never saw an OBGYN (I had an appointment on the 29th of July but of course with everything that happened I had to cancel.) so I'm a new patient everywhere I go. I do have an appointment Monday for my surgical follow up (if this DR doesn't reschedule AGAIN). I hate how doctors don't care about patients anymore (at least in the last two months that's what I've been dealing with). I need a doc who's going to treat me like I'm his/her only patient. I know I'm asking a lot, but I don't think I should have to wait two months to get an appointment just because I'm a new patient. I can't start trying again until October so that gives me sometime to scope out docs. It's just with a $40 copay it hurts to go into a doc's office and not like him/her and have to blow that $40. You do that three times and that's $120 out the window. I can buy groceries for that.

I'm rambling sorry. So here's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a good...amazing...awesome...wonderful doctor. Male or female I don't care in the Pembroke Pines, Cooper City, Davie, Weston area. (I'm in Pembroke Pines.) Preferably west of Palm ave. But at this point I'd go to Boca for an amazing doctor. I want someone who will let this progress naturally, but someone who's willing to get me in as soon as I'm pregnant because my chances of another ectopic pregnancy are increased now that I've had one. (I'd like to keep my right fallopian tube.) Someone that I can call and ask questions of and have my calls returned that day. Someone who will spend time with me and explain things too me, but not talk to me as if I'm a child. I want someone who will do nothing during delivery except catch.

I'm hoping one of you know a doctor like that in the area. Thank you.

I wish I had some good ones for you, but I don't. Been chronically disappointed. We had one PA we loved but she moved to Tampa last year.

It's a bummer. I've been called a criminal for not vaccinating. And I have a kid with autism.....

Doctors just don't care anymore...They really don't. The one I had to see for my follow up from my sugery was really nice. I might keep him. He said he'd let me go natural if I wanted but "Lets wait and see how you feel at 39 weeks." Most of his patients WANT to be induced. Which blows my mind.

Dr. Delisa Skeete is very good. I'm actually using the Hollywood Birthing Center. But, Dr. Skeete is my backup OB. I haven't had any issues with the office staff and she usually runs on time. Getting appointments wasn't a big problem for me either. She's located in Plantation though. She has an excellent manner with patients and comes off very natural birth supportive. I just saw her this past Friday and she mentioned how she wishes she could open her own birthing center. The only downside to her is she only delivers at Broward General I believe. If I HAD to have a hospital birth, I'd use her. Here is her info from the Amazing Births website:

Delisa Skeete, M.D.
VBAC friendly
HypnoBirthing supportive
4100 SW Hospital DR.
Plantation, FL
(954) 581-8706

BTW, I've heard of Dr. Tsinker. I've heard he is the ONLY doctor in south Florida who will deliver breech babies vaginally. That's what he's known for. I have never met him although I did meet a couple who's breech baby was delivered by him.

I live in St. Lucie and gave birth at A Birthing Center in Hallendale beach. Everything was exactly the way I wanted it, and my midwife sept hours talking to me. It was well worth the long drive (almost 2hrs), and I would drive twice as far to have the same experience.
