Rowan was born today at 1.30 after an awesome and awesomely intense 3 hour labour at home!
It was everything I could have hoped for-lots of support, quick and intense, but no tears and i fell pretty great!
more details tomorrow, but for now i'm going to go enjoy my BOY!

My friend came over and did acupuncture on Saturday, and coupled with the full moon and dh and i er...hanging out that night, he finally decided to come out and meet us on sunday. i woke up and just as i a was finishing breakfast, i felt a contraction. we decided to time them for a bit and they were short and not super intense, but very frequent-every 4 minutes or so. we called the mw bc of this and b/c i'd lost more of my plug, so we wanted to let her know that by that night, i'd probably be in labour. she came by around 10.30 am and checked me-totally effaced and 3 cm. we went ahead with a stretch and sweep, and things picked up. my water broke around 12.30 and things got super intense. up til then i was still pretty jokey and aware, but i wanted to get in the tub. we almost didn't make it-mw thought it might be too early, but i was only in for about 5 minutes before i w1as feeling the urge to push. we made it back to our bedroom and it was super intense-i could feel the pressure already, and preparations were being made for baby. 2nd mw barely arrived in time-i pushed for about 5 contractions and out he came. he's huge compared to e-a full pound heavier and 2" longer, but looks a lot like her.
i am so happy with our decision to birth at home-it was so great being in our own space and i had the same empowering incredible birth feelings as i diid with my first. so rad. i am so in awe of my our bodies can do!
we've just been chilling and taking advantage of MIL who's been watching our 3 year old and being the invisible cleaning and laundry fairy.
rowan is awesome. he's so rad and i can't believe i wasn't sure about being ready! it's so great seeing our dd with him-she's so stoked and although we have to keep an eye on her, she's just as in love as we are. i can't wait to see how they grow up together!
