My 28 mo DS just ripped/wore a hole in one knee of his Aristocrats longies that are otherwise in near-perfect condition (and $62 new!
). I don't knit (and these are machine-knit with very small stiches, anyway), but can sew and felt well enough, so I was wondering how I might patch the knee. I was thinking about getting some wool felt and making patches for the knees--just like putting elbow patches on a wool sweater. If I do this, and don't address the hole in the longies, will they continue to unravel, or will the stiches that hold the patch in place do the trick?
Knitting mamas, please excuse my ignorance about knitting
--learning is on my list of things to do someday when my LOs are a bit older.
Any other ideas or tips are very, very welcome!

Depends how big the hole is, but that would be my preferred option.
