Bad thrush infection in pregnant mom and nursing toddler

Well, just to top of my weekend, I just realized we have a terrible, terrible case of thrush. My LO is 14 months and I am 17 weeks along. I have looked up the more natural remedies, but they all seem to be sketchy about whether you can take them during pregnancy. Echincea, acidolphus, etc. Does anyone have any links or anything to share? Now that I know what it is, we have had it for a month or two now. I had never seen it before and just wrote off the pain to pregnancy and teething on his part. I feel like a terrible mom. At any rate, any advice would be appreciated. We are going through a really rough time right now and this is really the last thing we need. I have to see the nurse at my new OB clinic today, but I don't really trust Navy medical personel. So far they have bordered on incompetent and rude at this duty station. Thanks in advance for the help!

I have thrush but I'm not pregnant and nursing a toddler - just wanted to send you support. Thrush in and of itself sucks so be gentle with yourself.

I don't really know about the safety of the natural remedies and pregnancy. When I consulted a LC, homeopath and herbalist with my thrush and they said they don't even try the natural remedies in most cases because the pain is so present, nursing moms can't/won't wait for natural remedies to work.

I'm on Diflucan and doing some natural stuff and have a nipple cream made from all these OTC creams. This is providing some relief but it's still not gone.

Can you check a resource like the Nursing Mother's Companion? If I remember right, they have a good index on drugs and nursing.

I would at least get some good probiotics. Those are actually really good during pregnancy especially if you make your own yogurt.
Also, you can put a vinegar rinse on your nipples and a grapefruit seed extract rinse on DC's tongue.
