Talk to me about raspberry leaf tea

Thread Starter
I bought some raspberry leaf tea this weekend to get things moving along.

So, how does it work? Should I drink it 2 times a day? 3 times?

Does it work????

Thanks!

RRLT will only just help you tone your uterus, it will not give you contractions nor dilate. But keep drinking it! It also helps you to reproduce milk I would drink it before, throughout and after labor!

I was wondering the same thing. I bought a box of it earlier this year but didn't drink any because of my miscarriage history, but I planned on drinking some at the end. It was packed in a food box due to our move and I just found it this weekend. Is it too late to start? Will it do any good at this point?

heck yeah! I drank RRLT in the beginning of the pregnancy. Then at the end, throughout labor AND I still drink it now. It's even better for PP - will help you assist those after pain contractions and relieves excessive bleeding

look what I found... http://www.birthingnaturally.net/exe...el/kegcup.html

I gotta start doing kegels now... after 3 kids, my pelvic floor needs some major improvement LOL!!!

eta: while I don't understand is how will it reduce milk supply? some say that it will help you PRODUCE more milk and I can vouch for that statement...

I make an infusion (steep over night) with 3 (heaping) tbsp of the loose leaves to 3 cups water and drink that throughout the day.

My infusion also has alfalfa (1 tbsp), nettle (2 tbsp), and burdock root (1 tsp). My MW said 1-3 tbsp of each but I have adjusted it to my taste (burdock tastes really bad, btw).

I don't think RRLT will reduce your milk supply. I drink this stuff every day and I hand express about a tablespoon's worth of colostrum from each breast on a daily basis... and I don't even have the baby yet! (maybe it's the alfalfa?)

I noticed about the milk production statement varies in different sites, in this site it tells you that rrlt assists you in plentiful milk I have always drank rrlt in all my pregnancies and I only have to say that I produce milk to feed 10 babies!

diamond lil, there is a paragraph in that site that gives you a list of herbs to produce uterine contractions:

Quote:
Herbs that stimulate uterine contractions: birthwort, blue cohosh, cinchona, cotton root bark, ergot (as in commercial preparations for migraine headaches), goldenseal, gotu kola, Peruvian bark.

I believe RRL has a balancing affect, that is why it mellows and irritable uterus and tones a quiet one. I have heard it helps with milk over-production and under-production. A true catch all womens herb.
I drink it 1-2 times per day and it seems to slow down my oh so frequent BH. I also plan on drinking it during and after labor. There is a massive thread in the pregnancy forum for more info.
