birthday ideas

Hi everyone, i'm looking for some ideas on what to do for my daughter's 4th birthday in the way of a trip or outing. We have been doing this instead of presents since there will plenty of them from family. Last year we took a long weekend to Baltimore and went to the aquarium. It was great and we want to do something like that again, but now we have a 4 month old tagging along for the ride and can't be so free spirited. I live in bucks county pa and would like to stay within 4 hours. it could be outdoors,a museum, park, overnight or one day. really no parameters at this point. Any ideas?

Every year, since ds was a few months old (probably around 4-5 months actually was his first time), we have gone to a big indoor waterpark resort.
That first year he was so easy, did a lot of napping in the stroller or sitting in the itty bitty kids section splashing in a few inches of water with me or my mom.
As he got bigger he obvioulsy has enjoyed it more and more, especially last year and this year when ds turned 5.
He is a complate daredevil so goes on all the adult rafts & tube slides, but there are always so many sections geared towards much younger kiddies, there is usually something for everyone.

Hi Colleen -- My SIL lives isn Newtown!! We visit there a lot. We often take the train in to New York when we are visiting her -- would your DD like that? A trip to Lancaster overnight maybe -- Dutch Wonderland, buggy ride, Lapp's Farm for ice cream and to see the baby cows. . . oooh, I want to be there now! In Delaware we've taken a fun steam-train trip where you can ride in the cabboose. Oh, and Lancaster also has the steam railroad there. The shore for a weekend? We love Long Beach Island in New Jersey.


Maybe you should post in the Pennsylvania section of Finding your Tribe -- I'm sure the people there would have lots and lots of ideas of fun things to do in the area!
