I Nursed DD on the Floor of the House of Representatives

So DH and I went to Washington D.C. last Friday. We heard that the republicans were opening up the House Floor to the public...This was a first in the history of the U.S. and a once in a lifetime opportunity. So we and our 7.5mos DD headed down for a day trip of sight seeing and to take advantage of the opportunity to sit down where our countries leaders do their work.

While we were there DD started to get hungry, so I went ahead and fed her.

First I have to say I'm so thankful to thge women who lobbied for that right (I believe it was Carolyn Maloney who really pushed the Bill)...To feed my baby on federal property. There were quite a few other people there, and if anyone noticed they didn't seem to mind..I actually got a smile from someone across the room.

Second, DD might just be the only baby in history to have been breastfed on the Floor of the House of Representatives. Who know? Either way it's definitely a story to tell her when she's older!

I just thought I'd share, it was exciting! :0)

We so would have if we had been allowed to have electronics in the room...But we had to leave our camera in the coat room. :0( DH joked that the story alone would definitely trump all others in those icebreaker games they always make you play in highschool.
