We dtd on Sunday- and it wasn't painful, but it wasn't the best we've ever had, either. Apparently, my. lady bits are still stretched out a lot from the birth. So I'm for waiting a bit longer, just because we were both really looking forward to it, and then it wasn't all that.

So.. yeah. something to be said for waiting, I guess.

Just 2w pp here as of yesterday, still bleeding. The bleeding actually seems to have picked up in the last 2 days, maybe I've been doing too much...I'll rest more today.

I had a 2nd degree tear, still haven't looked at it, but it feels like its healing up ok. DTD? No desire yet!

Poor DH though, I definitely need to help him out in that area a bit more...

TMI question...anyone else have weird sensations in their clitoris? Like it gets more blood flow or something now and gets really sensitive? This is definitely a new pp development for me. Its almost painful...

Sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat. We're 6w pp tomorrow and not much going on here. With #1 we waited about 2.5 weeks or so and not sure with #2. This time, the combo of having 3 kids and cosleeping with 2 plus our hectic schedules.... yeah, so not happening right now.

I feel bad for hubby though so yeah, I've helped him out a couple of times too, but thats about it. Probably a few more weeks... but who knows, we'll see.

It just trips me out how many of us have to help our DHs/DPs out LOL. I SOOO wish men could have babies...

DH and I both really want to but we are waiting until 6 weeks PP (next Wed) just to be on the safe side even though I was feeling just great 2 weeks PP, I don't want to push it.

The little guy will be 6 weeks this friday and nothing going on over here either. With my first I think I waited for 6 months!! This past birth was pretty easy physically and I would have been ready weeks ago but dh and I are not in the same state right now. We're about two states apart! :

Not in your ddc, but had to reply...

This is very normal and many women experience sharp pain, or increased sensitivity to the clitoris after birth. Mine went away about 6 mo pp.

Well, I am separated and haven't DTD since the night Nathan was conceived, but I'd have to say even if I had the opportunity, I wouldn't. And my lil' guy's going to be 7 weeks on Saturday. For one thing, although my bleeding absolutely stopped almost three weeks ago, last Sunday it started again. I don't think it's a period, but hey, who knows. I know that *I* was conceived when my sister was 6 weeks old, and I have a neighbor now that was 3 weeks pregnant at her 6 week postpartum visit, so ovulating that close to childbirth is certainly possible.

That's utterly beside the point... I don't think, with any of my other births, that I DTD prior to about 3 months postpartum.

ummm yikes.
My husband is actually wanting to, but me... not so much.
It's been 4 weeks, and I didn't tear at all but I'm still bleeding and that area just needs some "downtime" for a bit.

Clearly we're far too horny! We seem to wait less and less each time.

First time was about 10 days pp. I was starting to get a bit eager at 7 days.

My feeling on it is if I feel well enough and want to DTD, then I must be. The whole listen to my body concept. (Very carefully though, since I do start my cycles again very soon after birth!)

For those that have done it....how did that go?? Especially those that did it early? I didn't tear and feel up to it kinda, but still feel like stuff is "hanging out" down there.

Screw it all, I'm going to jump DP tomorrow night when he gets in from his basketball game. He doesn't know it and will probably try to stop me but I may just have to take it if he doesn't cooperate.

Well, it went better than anything in the later part of the pregnancy. I could feel things were a little "off", but it was quite enjoyable for me. The next time (somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks) was even better. I also did not have any tearing, any swelling beyond a couple days after birth, and seem to shrink back to a closer to "normal" size fairly quickly. (Hope that's not TMI!)

Here's a trend for you.
After #1 we waited 4 weeks. After #2 we waited 3.5 weeks. After #3 we waited 3 weeks. The only one that was at all uncomfortable was after our first baby, at 4 weeks, and I think it was nerves more than anything. The other times, we were both ready! But now that Quinn is home and attached to me 24/7, the opportunity doesn't always knock...
