My Breast HURTS!!!

This morning my breast started to hurt, and as the day is going by it's getting worse. It's really painful now.

The bottom half is sore when I touch, nurse, and even when I move around. I don't have fever or anything else bothering me. There's nothing to see on the outside, and I don't think it's swollen.

Can anyone advise? (My dr. isn't in the office today.)

you have a pluf in your duct, turning into mastitis. you need to nurse your baby frequently always firt on that side, with his/her chin in the direction of the lump (painful spot), massagin the area from the outside of the breast down to the nipple, as deep/hard as you can stand. use hot compresses, and take a hot shower/bath amd massage massage massage.

it could be a plugged duct. try to unplug it asap so it doesn't turn into mastitis. take a hot shower or bath if you can. massage the area that hurts, towards the nipple--try to work out the plug. nurse on that side, nurse and nurse some more. take some vitamin c and rest if you can.

OMG-I am experiencing the same thing. I am so glad you posted my question! Last night one breast started to hurt- but I thought I forgot to alternate and it was just full- but dd has nursed all day on this boob and it still hurts. I'm going to shower now- dd just fell asleep.

It's actually gotten worse. With 3 kids, this is the first time I'm feeling like this. I think I'm developing a fever, although the thermometer shows normal.

What can I do naturally?

garlic (1 clove, chopped up, swallowed)
1200 mg soy lecithin
vit. c (much as you can)
heat
rest

but I don't screw with mastitis - once fever/aches hit, I take the abx + ibuprofin. i let it go too long once before meds, and was thiiiiiiiis close to an abscess.
