Jacob Vaughn is here! He arrived at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday August
14th after roughly 12 hours of totally natural, totally intense
labor. He was born at home in the water into my own hands, weighing 8
lbs. 4 oz. and measuring 21 inches long with a wee little 13 inch
head. Yes, I had my HBAC, and while it was the most difficult thing
I've ever done in every imaginable way, it was 100% worth it and I'm
so glad I did it. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head
around the fact that I pushed a human being out of my vagina (and
my "misshapen," "too small" pelvis that "probably couldn't birth a
baby bigger than 6 lbs." HA!).
I am on bedrest with a broken tailbone and a small tear that didn't
need to be stitched so this is the first time I've gotten online
since I gave birth. I will share my birth story and some pics soon, I
just wanted to get this down while Jacob is napping in the sunshine
for his jaundice. More later!
