Where to get brown wrapping paper?

Any ideas? I want the stuff like was in old-fashioned mercantiles. I want to use it to wrap my homemade presents this year, and tie with twine. I'm such a dork, but I think it will look so pretty and old-fashioned under the tree.

Target sells it. They also have brown/natural gift bags and bows.

Maybe try Hobby Lobby or Michaels for a lower price. For small things you could use brown grocery bags turned inside out, I do that a lot. You could also try and find a big roll of brown art paper, the preschool where I work has a giant roll and I use it to wrap gifts a lot, too. It's thinner than wrapping paper but it gets the job done.

I have seen it by the shipping stuff. The area that has packing tape, bubble mailers not by the rest of the wrapping papers and gift bags.

I buy a brown roll of the "shipping" paper...you can find it next to the shipping boxes and such at Target.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. I wouldn't have thought to look next to shipping stuff. Duh!

I like the idea of using paper bags, but I usually take my cloth bags. Maybe if I forget them I'll ask for paper next time.

Office Max and other similar stores all sell it in big rolls with the shipping supplies. It is really cheap.

just my two cents, but the kind that's used for shipping is very stiff and thicker than regular wrapping paper. i've used it for lack of finding something better, bit it's difficult to work with whether you're wrapping boxes or especially if you want to wrap something soft directly in the paper. but it IS cheap!

all of the dollar stores around here have it - it's called Kraft paper

If you have a local paper, check with them. They sell (or some give away!) the end rolls of newsprint. I usually double-up on two layers when using it for wrapping but it's also the perfect thickness for use as packing paper on the inside of boxes.

I think our paper sells it for $.30 a pound and they have a variety of different weights left depending on how many pages the paper had.

It also makes a great large craft project for kids. They can make HUGE paintings or banners.
