If she plans on keeping the baby, try to find a local program that will help her stay in school. I work at a local community center and we have a program that provided prenatal care, parenting classes, child care (so the girls can graduate) and other stuff to help the girls until their children enter elementary school.

Well there may be nothing she can do at this point if she knew about the relationship and didn't stop it in the beginning. Same thing happened to my BFF at 16 she was dating a 25 year old. Her mom didn't care for the first year and then who knows why called the cops and in my state if the parent knows about the relationship and doesn't do anything in the beginning (calling cops) they won't do anything about it later.

IMO, it'd be more harmful to the girl to press charges against the boyfriend. If he's not abusive in any way, then it's better for her to have someone there to be a parent to the child with her.

I'd definitely talk to this girl about all the different places she can get help with the baby, getting her own place, etc. I'm not sure about all states, but in most she can get emancipated at 16. She'd be an adult, be able to move out and move on without her controlling mom there to berate her.

I think you're awesome for extending a hand to this young woman. As a teen mom, I love to see people stepping up to help those in a hard situation.
