Temps taper off different per person, as we each have different body chemistry, and there can be environmental factors that change things too... but from most charts I have seen, temp sort of start dropping right before AF shows up, and is typically low the day it starts, but I have seen the opposite of that too... after charting a few cycles you will find what your pattern will be.

I think staying positive and keeping the appointment and starting Maca are all good things! Especially as you have not had any regular periods off of BCP yet it seems... remember it can take 6 months to a year for your system to truly regulate after BCP, sometimes even up to a year and a half. After I found this information out I swore I'd never go back on synthetic BC again. : The things docs SHOULD tell you but don't to help line their pockets from endorsements from drug companies... /rant

You know my thoughts on Maca. That's my highest recomendation.
BUt I DID Ovulate and that was on my provera induced cycle. So maybe it doesnt for everyone but it did work for me. There is a time and a place for medical and I think it was the time for provera for me otherwise I might still be on that 100 some day cycle.

My temps are still up but I am expecting them to drop tomorrow. Still cramping in my lower back like AF cramps.

Hmm, I have always temped while charting to avoid (2+ years), but I never kept doing it at the end of the cycle (not regularly at least). Now I wish I had so I would have something to compare this one to. I'm 13DPO, temperatures keep rising. I might test on Sat or Sun (15/16DPO). I seriously am too cheap to test until I think there's a good chance of a BFP. I have had some cramping feelings over the last 24 hrs.

With both of my pregnancies I had what I thought were AF cramps, and I felt like she was coming any minute. But they kind of came and went for days before I finally tested (16dpo for this one). Also, my temps usually go down the day before AF, but sometimes only the day of, and then stay down, but once or twice in 2 years I would get my period on a day when my temp was super high. I like waiting to test because I don't like faint lines. I probably wouldn't have even tested at 16 if my mom hadn't been in town, lol!

Mrscompgeek- At least if a/f comes for you then you know that's what your regular cycles are like. Which is why you should keep charting, and taking the maca. For me the temps always dropped a few days before a/f. I don't have cramps anymore, (I think you feel them more during first tri) but my lower back still hurts just like it did before a/f arrived for me. When I first found out that I was pg I kept thinking that a/f would come any minute because of the symptoms that I was having, they were so similar to the beginning stages of pg. As for the maca I second what JSMa said.

Notyetmommy- Ikwym, that's why I bought a digital and had dh hide it for me until I was ready to use it.

MrsComp... so you took provera this cycle that you are on right now??

If not... how did you know you ovulated, because you said you were not temping before now?

You can get a bleed without ovulating, just so you know.

YES this is a Provera induced cycle. I know I ovulated because I started temping before I o'd this month and I got a POSITIVE OPK and EWCM.
I know some of you on here keep telling me that I might not have O'd since I can have all the symptoms and OPKs and still not but I am positive I O'd so thats not the Issue.
And I am starting to cramp today and low back pain and it feels like I used to get before AF when I was younger. I will know for sure in a few days because AF should come tomorrow if this is AF cramps.
I took a FRER test this morning a got a BFN and not even a hint of a faint line so I am pretty positive Im not pregnant. Maybe I am and Im just not seeing it but for now Im gonna assume Im not and just wait for next cycle. If no AF by Monday then I may test again just to be sure.

Ah! When did you take the provera?

It is possible to ovulate on provera... I did... (well technically I ovulated like 2 days prior to starting the provera) but the provera doesn't make you ovulate. Don't want to give you a hard time, just wanted to share some knowledge.

I took Provera August 10th-August 16th and started my period on August 20th.

Then that was your provera cycle... this is a whole new cycle.

No its the same cycle. . . . .I started AF on August 20th and am still on that cycle.. . . CD58 to be exact.
Ok...

Provera caused that bleed in August... but then AF didn't return like normal after 30 days from that bleed... your doctor should have done tests then. At least that is how my two doctors explained it to me and from everything I have read anyway...

Like I said, provera doesn't cause a period... it forces a bleed to happen from building up of the uterine lining. If provera worked properly to jump start your system, 30-ish days later a normal period should have happened after taking the provera... since you are at CD58... something else is causing you to have long cycles and your doc should be working with you to figure that out.

I know how frustrating it is... I went to 2 different doctors and went nearly 5 months with nothing going on. It sucks. But it is also good to know all the information and exactly how the cycles work so you can take charge and be proactive with your doc to make them find out what is up.

Exactly. . . You got it now!! My cycles have never been regular, always very long cycles so its not abnormal for me to be at CD58. I am just getting annoyed since we are ttc. . . Ya know what I mean. My dr said nothing about testing more if I dont get a period 30 ish days later.. . . She didnt mention that at all. Stupid doctor
post #533 of 732
Yeah I remember you mentioning that about your dr. (I seriously would not go to him/her anymore if I were you) which is a good thing you are keeping your appt. for the 30th. Let us know how that goes, and keep us updated.

Temps are still high this morning. I was expecting them to drop this morning.Im still having low back/AF cramps at least I think. I dont even know anymore. Im tired of guessing. Im not testing today because I only have one FRER test left and Im saving it til I am sure something is different.

I'm stalking your chart MrsComp.

Your temps are not very jumpy and pretty stable looking, this is a very good thing... If they are still high at like 15DPO and 16DPO... I'd think about testing. *nods* If they are still up at 18DPO and no AF and a BFN... Make sure to print your chart and take it to your appt. on the 30th. I'd ask for a blood test at that point... because general rule of thumb is 18 days of high temps past ovulation is a pretty good indicator of pregnancy... if you are not... something is going on and docs need to recognize that.

I'm really crossing my fingers for you though. :

You don't have many days of waiting left to find out one way or another. *nods* Have any fun plans this weekend to keep your mind off of things?

Lol its nice to know someone is stalking me! I really expected to get AF today. I usually dont start AF cramps until the day before AF comes and I started them yesterday. : So now I dunno. I guess we will see.
This weekend is crazy, tomorrow we are having a church fall party and sunday we have church and mission service sunday evening. I hate weekends like this. I just want to chill out!

I woke up this morning feeling almost panicked, like a anxiety attack. Weird. I dont have to work to day so I slept in a little but woke up at 6 to take my temps since that the time I normally do it and went back to sleep.

The busy weekend will help keep your mind elsewhere though. DO NOT STRESS!
