Wed, 8/20, still pregnant

Thread Starter
thought i'd start the daily thread since i didnt' see one.

computer virus is still being fixed; i'm 39 weeks pregnant today.

i'm questioning whether or not i should go canvassing for Obama on sunday. i mean, i suppose if i have the baby, then yes, but pregnant may not be good. i'm having trouble waddling aroudn for more than an hour. LOL

i guess i can do the phone bank. . .though i think that the press of "obama supporter gives birth while canvassing" might be fun.

I'm still pregnant too. 10 days past my due date now. My midwife isn't talking about induction, which is always good, but I still get nervous about approaching that 42 week mark because my first was induced.
I am an emotional wreck though because I am really ready for this baby to come out. I feel like I'm the pms roller coaster from hell. I want my body back, I want to stop waddling everywhere, I want to stop going to the bathroom every 5 minutes, I want my contractions to actually mean labor is here and not just a tease. Most importantly though, I just want to hol this baby on the outside already.

Although one funny thing is, I had a really weird dream that my baby came out looking like a shrek baby, but with extremely blond hair.

40 weeks + 2 days here. I'm thinking about calling my SIL to see if she wants to go walking around the mall with me. I'd walk outside, but it's pretty hot here. And in the evenings, I got mosquitoes following me.

DH bought castor oil for me last night, but I haven't tried it yet. I read the castor oil thread, and I'm afraid the baby will poop in utero, so I'm going to wait. Will also call about acupressure to induce labor.

My doctor appointment yesterday revealed that I am not even fingertip dilated, but cervix is nice and soft. Will go back in on Friday to try stripping membranes again.

39 weeks + 3 days here with #2. 2 cm dilated and lots of weird cervix pains but think I have a few days ahead of me.. pretty constant braxton hicks whenever I am walking though...

lots of prodromal labor, especially at the end of the day, but it always fizzles when I lay down to sleep.
I was thinking I would have a Leo, but Virgo is right around the corner...

Oh, when does Virgo begin? My husband's a Virgo, his birthday is the 28th and he's been whining all month about about sharing his b-day month with this baby. I told him he jinxed it by complaining and now this baby is not coming *until* his b-day, just to take all his glory. Oh well, if it's a boy I love Virgo men! I know nothing about Virgo women, though. What are the traits?

I'm hoping for a Virgo but Leo is fine too The Virgo starts Aug 23rd or 24th (I've seen both). I don't know anyone who is a Virgo but I have a couple friends who have Virgo daughters.

I had my mw appt today. 39.5 weeks. Dh and the mw say the baby is lower and my fundal height is lower too so I guess the baby really is lower, lol! Still happily preggo

Still here. 40 wks + 5 days. Had my weekly appointment with my MW this morning, and feel a ton better as a result. I do have an NST scheduled for Saturday in the event that the baby doesn't make his/her appearance by then, and we scheduled another MW appt for next Tuesday just in case.

Anyway, I think all is ok. I'm determined not to be the slightly miserable slug I was yesterday. I'm putting another coat of spackle on the belly cast today...and if it dries by this eve, I'll sand it again, put a layer of gesso on it, and it will hopefully be ready for paint after that dries.

And I'm sure I can find other odd projects to occupy me today as well. I feel like I finally want to teach myself to make challah, though I might hold off until Friday to do that.

Yesterday I got my eyebrows waxed -- and it's funny how such a small thing made me feel so good. I feel cute! And it didn't cost much. Depending on what happens today/tonight, perhaps I'll get a pedicure tomorrow. These things seem to matter right now. While I'm not high maintenance and, frankly, can rarely bring myself to take a razor to my legs (not that I can reach them at this point anyway) -- there's just something about giving myself little treats -- other than those of the ice cream variety, which I tend to overdo...

I have been having regular (and painful) contractions every night while I am trying to sleep. Last night they were 10 minutes apart. They always stop by 5 or 6 am. :

40 + 4 days here. :

Feeling OK. Had my weekly midwife apt today and she is so chill she made me relax a bit about feeling I need to get the baby out asap. I did get my membranes stripped & I'm at 3.5 cm and 70 % effaced.

I had a NST which was fine, they scheduled a u/s on Tuesday to check fluid levels. I really hope I'm not still pregnant then.

Decided to give the Cohoshes a try with my doula this weekend. Maybe try castor oil by Sunday if he's not here.

I have to pee ALL THE TIME. I am also really exhausted and going to take a nap now!

Im due today, but I think I have another week at least... not much going on at all. I feel like this baby is waiting for me to finish my to-do list (which I've really been slacking on)
Im wondering if I should hop over to the September ddc....

I'm 39 weeks 3 days. Feeling pretty good today, DS and I took a loooong walk this morning because it is so nice and cool out!! It feels great to turn of my A/C and get some fresh air... even if it's only for one day!!!

I spent some time sitting/bouncing on my big fitness ball last night (DS thought it was fun too!) and had some good contractions for few hours, but they fizzled out. Practice, practice, right?

I think it would be a lot easier waiting if everyone else could wait too, instead of calling/emailing me all the time asking where the baby is. She's in my belly, and if you don't leave us alone, she going to stay there!!!
38w5d today! I have no idea if I'm dilated at all and don't want to know unless I'm in active labor. I haven't packed my hospital bag yet. I'm looking online for a doula present and just feel so bad that DS is stuck at home so much these days 'cause "mama is always so tired."

One of my best friends is a Virgo, don't know about typical Virgo qualities, but she is a very smart, bright woman, very laid back, relaxed, honest and so funny. Sounds good to me!

Here is a funny text message exchange that dh and I had today:

dh: How ya feeling

me: fine.

dh: well, I hope you feel like crap soon!

me: me too!

The only time I think you wish that on someone you love. haha
