It's 10 til 10 here. My teeth are brushed, I've changed from "night jammies" to "day jammies" and I'm eating breakfast. This is a good day.

My milk came in in full force last night. Ugh. Between the engorgement and the afterpains I'm feeling somewhat like the underside of a shoe. I had forgotten how bad the afterpains can be. Thankfully, they are getting better but GEEZ.

Colin is doing well - he's stoked that my milk came in; he was perma-attached to my nipples all day yesterday just waiting for something substantial lol. Now the trick is getting him to know when he's had enough. He spit up a whole feeding, it seemed like, this morning. Don't know if it's due to him gulping or just my milk letting down too fast. He's been fine since, so hopefully it's under control now.

My house is a serious disaster. People from work have been bringing dinner, etc and it's embarrassing to have them inside. Thank goodness my mom is coming this weekend to help.

Hope everyone else is doing well! :

Greenmom-sounds like we're at the same stage!!!

milk came in last night, and thank goodness the afterpains are waaaay less intense today. if i had both issues full tilt, i think i'd weep. rowan is nursing so well-much better with each feed, and he is currently passed out due to the milk blitz this morning. he goes through periods where there's literally 30 minutes between feeds-i forgot about this stage! i am so in love with him. i can't believe i went through a "i hope i don't have a boy" stage during pregnancy.

today is the first day i'm not in pj's-yay for fat clothes! but not a panel in sight...lovely. my 3 year old was like "wow, mummy, why are you in real clothes?" which gives an indication of how i've looked of late, hee hee.

starting to get bored, but trying to stick to my master plan of doing nothing til friday, outside of taking care of me and rowan. my gut instinct is to get up and do tons of stuff (many small disasters around the home, i'm sure), but i know the best thing to do is rest, rest, rest. thank goodness for laptops! MIL and DH continue to be amazing at taking care of me. i feel so, so lucky. my 3 year old is a little, um, trying these days-anyone else having some growing pains with their older dc's? i'm trying to make more time for her (she's used to lots of time with just me), and we've been making her more a part of life with rowan, and that seems to help. she's just SO full of unharnessed crazy energy, and despite her claims of " i love him! i'll be gentle!" she's proven otherwise...it's a balance i suppose we'll have to find for ourselves, but i'd love any tips! we're trying to talk through feelings as she's usually very easygoing.
have a great day!

This morning was the first since Ella's birth that I actually felt rested. I did far too much around the house in the past couple of days that today I said I'd take it easy. Ella and I went to the Breastfeeding support group this AM, it was great and we met lots of other babies and moms. A nice outing for sure. My 3 year old goes to Day Care 4 mornings a week and I thought I would be sorry I had to keep her in (we had to or we would have lost our spot) but it honestly has been a godsend. When she gets home we have a little visit about her day and then she goes down for a nap. It gives me the entire day to focus on Ella and then when my 3 yr old gets up it is her turn to pick activities. So this afternoon we'll be going to our neighbor's to introduce Livy's little sister to her friend.

This morning I got ALL of my cloth diapers out in a giant heap and sorted them. I discovered I am quite anal as for some reason I find I must order more BGs so that I can have 6 of each of the 4 colors that I have! LOL So though I don't need any, I'm going to get some just so I can have 6 of each. SHHHHH don't tell DH! I found lots that are going to get donated to a handy mama because the elastic went while in storage. Some I'll get repaired others aren't worth it.

And that was the end of my to do list for today!

I've been on a serious nesting trip this morning. I've sorted through tons of bins of clothes that I'm either donating to goodwill or giving to friends. I've even packed up all my maternity clothes my girlfriend gave me. Not to mention I have separated all the laundry to be washed but won't get around to washing anything until tomorrow or Friday.

My apartment looks like a bomb went off but I don't care. I'm going to go catch a nap while Kendall is sleeping. My milk was literally spilling out of my boob today. LOL. I showered and next thing I know, it was like a faucet. LOL

I've had a productive day so far. We got E's SS card yesterday, so I added her to our insurance policy. Good thing, because in today's mail was a bill from the hospital for our stay $7000 for me and $2400 for E! Of course, it's pending insurance, so we won't pay all of that. Insane!!!

I also made plans for a playdate on Sat, found my mom & dad a hotel room for when they visit in Oct, made plans for DS2's bday in a couple of weeks, and folded some laundry. Now I am chillin until DS2 needs to go lay down for nap.

I think E is hitting a 2 wk growth spurt. She nursed/woke a lot last night and today. DS1 had a bad dream last night and came in to sleep with us, so it was cozy in bed last night.

I went to LLL yesterday and there were 2 new moms with newborns- one has b/g twins 3 wks old and the other has a dd about that age. They were both having latch issues and for the first time ever I saw 2 moms pull out formula to feed their babies at LLL! I'm lucky my mouth didn't drop open. Luckily we had 2 leaders there, so one did one-on-one help with them during the meeting. It's always interesting to see who comes and where or not they return.

Hope the engorgement eases up for you two! I was feeling it for 2 days when my milk came in, but luckily it went away without causing more problems.

did you put babe on the breast?!?! sounds like a good opportunity to do so!!!

I am having some BM problems.... talked to my mw and told me sometimes women experienced some of this after giving birth. My body is backed up a little bit so today I had to massage my upper belly to help with pooping.

Other than that, I feel okay... I am going to see my chiro tomorrow and set up an appt. for Fri for a massage.

It's official... baby sleeps a lot better in my bed than in his bassinet. I have to find a better mattress for it, those mattresses that comes with it are so crappy :

Jack is doing wonderful.

I had a blocked duct on the left, resolved it. Then got one on the right, resolved it. Then another on the left, which is infected. I had a fever of 102.3, chills, aches and sweats all night. I called my OB and they are calling in a prescription.

I pumped a bunch of milk last night so that I could sleep and the man could feed/change diapers. Thank God he took six weeks off.

I got the Moby wrap in the mail and he loves it. I was worried that I was gonna have such a hard time finding something he liked. He slept the entire time we were in Costco and it was lovely.

Oooh, I meant to chime in on that, too. I bought a sleepy wrap and it is *wonderful* - my other savior has been the Miracle blanket - worth every penny, IMO.

You might be getting clogged ducts because you are going too long between nursings. I'd advise taking baby to bed with you and learning to do side lying nursing so you can rest while nursing.

Ivy is doing great. I think she is growth spurting too. Her sleep (and mine) was disturbed. She's gained a pound during her second week!

I took all 3 kids out today alone. We went to the grocery store and did fine. It was raining so I got pretty wet getting 3 kids in and out.
Tonight dh is making dinner for a friend that had a baby about a week before Ivy was born. He's doing double so we can eat some too, its his specialty: Lemon Pepper Chicken! yum!

I'm feeling alright. I even put on some non maternity pants. I think I'm about 7lbs over pre-pregnancy weight (and that still makes me about 60lbs higher than I'd like!). Having pants options is nice! Even though I'm way overweight still I feel like I'm thin because my big belly is gone. At this point in my life it really just doesn't matter. dh is happy with me and I feel healthy.

I'm starting to up my placenta pills and take angelica tincture in hopes that I can get my bleeding to stop. I'm so done with it! I don't want two months of bleeding like I had with the other kids!

Megan - ivy is just too precious!

robertandenith - I tried but he rejected. I keep tryng though! Never give up.

I'm still having that pain in my hip joint. My suggested I call the nurse tomorrow just to get checked anyway. I plan to do just that. DP and Kendall are on the bed napping. He slept pretty good in his crib today after I swaddled him. Hopefully tonight he'll sleep pretty good tonight so DP and I can have some quality time.

I've decided that I'm going to start my househunting back up after a year. It's been awhile and I really want a house for Kendall to grow up in. I know it'sgoing to take some serious budgeting but I think I can do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I think Mr. J is going through a growing spurt I have spent the entire day nursing him off and on and everytime I put him down, he wants to nurse again. I can see that he has gained weight but we havent weighed him yet. Think I will take an early night tonight.....am exhausted. I think Mr. J is connected to the pc...everytime I get on he wakes up....I can see his face scrunching up.....ok feeding time again. Glad to know everyone else is doing well

omg I was going to post about this just now! my baby was going through one today I am so sure... he nursed the whole day, I even thought I was out of milk since he nursed non stop and my breast never felt full. He is sleeping right now and I am about to wake him up to change his nappies. His poopie diapers are less now, phew!!!! He was pooping 10 times a day now he is down to 4 but still pees a lot. We managed to cloth diapered even when we are out! : The PUL covers I made are just a great combo with my prefolds and now I can CD at night and when we are out! So far I have only used 3 disposies since he was born and probably won't need them anymore....
