Holes in my short rows

I need to start knitting up some diaper covers for #3, in our attempt to try and talk ourselves out of #3, I went and got rid of everything 0-6 mos! It's been awhile since I made diaper covers but I never did figure out what I was doing wrong, I knit up three covers and I kept getting the hole every time. It got a little better- two holes to just one.

Also was wondering if any one knew of any affordable soft wool for a newborn diaper cover? The pattern I have uses worsted weight yarn.

Thanks!

Are you doing a wrapped short row? And if so are you sure to pull the wrap into the stitch that it is wrapped around? That was hard for me to figure out the first couple of times.

As for yarn- get yourself some merino from knitpicks and dye it yourself! Or cascade 220 or even peace fleece softens up alot!

Thanks

Yeah, it's the Little Turtle Knits pattern. I keep doing something wrong when I wrap and turn. I'll try that, I'm starting another with some left-over 220 I have.

I looked at Knit Picks but all their Merino is super wash- I thought that didn't work for diaper covers?

Here's a step by step guide to doing short rows in the round. I found it very helpful.

Ahhhhhh!

Still getting holes, urh!!!!
I've re-read and gone over the description for short rows in the LTK pattern and still holes, I tried the step by step on-line that doesn't do the wrap thing and still holes... I think I'm just to slow to pick this up on-line, I'm going to have to have someone walk me through it. Geesh.

Thanks for the Knit Picks link, for some reason I wasn't seeing that just the super wash stuff.

Here's the technique I use and I get really wonderful results. Better than any other method I've tried. Tell me how it works for you.

Yep, Mandie's shortrows are the easiest and the least visible. I've tried them all, and hers are hands-down my favorite. I still get a biggish knit stitch on the right end, but they are so much better than they were, and I never get holes.
