TF, Stretch Marks, Oily Hair and the like...

Has anyone had any help with these with their diet? Raw foods, raw animal foods, tons of saturated fat, anything?

I have tried several times in the past to regulate the oil on my scalp to be able to wash my hair in just water. This has worked great for many people, but even after an entire year my oil wasn't going away. I feel like it's probably diet/ hormones etc. and was hoping to hear from people that have been eating tf for longer than myself if oily hair has gone away? I've read that oily hair is actually caused by a dry scalp so the oil glands go into overdrive. So, will eating high fat moisturize me from the inside and stop the oil?

Any stretch mark success????? I've gotten rid of the color 90% but the TEXTURE is what I really hate. That wrinkly, 90 year old belly look. Somebody please tell me you've been eating awesome and they just disappeared. I'm not talking about those little ones that show up on the hips etc. I'm talking the big fat ripped flesh that you can push on and feels that it just goes all the way through .

Not a TF solution, but I know switching to washing my hair with BS and ACV got my hair down to washing once a week. I was amazed at how oily my hair wasn't once I stopped using shampoos.

That's exactly what I've been using lately. It really is amazing how it cuts down the frequency!

I wish! I have been eating TF (tons of raw everything!) for 2 1/2 years now. I have seen no decrease in them. Besides eating well, I also exercise like a freakin' Marine! Yes, I have seen my stomach decrease, but the SKIN & its STRETCHINESS are still very much there. I am seriously considering cosmetic surgery eventually. I know, I know, it is so vain.

I'm the sort of person that will go out in public with somewhat greasy and un-kept hair, dirty unmatching clothes, and no make-up and not feel that bad about myself, yet my stretch marks make me want to just die and start all over again. :

My hair still gets greasy, but it is hard to tell. I only use Aubreys Organic body care products, and also wash my hair with eggs sometimes. I can go a whole week if I had to.

As for stretch marks, I don't know how to get rid of them. I gained so much weight during my pregnancy, and carried her 4 weeks late. So there are many. I am just glad I got none on my boobs.

I think mine have improved a little. Could be my imagination though. But I am sure there is a little less spare skin and the wrinkly horror is slightly less pronounced. Maybe I'm just an optimist.... But then I was very deficient in saturated fats and omega 3s so perhaps its just a case of I've stopped making them worse with my diet or something.
All my stretch marks are from my ds1 - and in the oddest places like under my arms and behind my knees, as well as over the usual places. But I have some deep nasty ones on my belly that make the flesh all puckered. Its those that I think are improving. I hope that you find something that helps with yours (and that mine really are getting better).

I think my extra skin is a bit less now than it was, but I don't know why- perhaps I am just optimisitic as well and the longer it gets the more I forgot what normal looked like.

I just started this routine and it works great! I am so excited to be poo free .

I was on a low fat vegan diet during my pregnancy days and have tonnnnnnns of stretch marks. My skin was always dry & I'm sure that made my stretch marks worse.

I've heard some use coconut oil to prevent and minimise existing stretch marks. I just started using it this week so I have no results to post but I do like how soft my skin is. I use only a little and let it soak in before I get dressed. I'm the stretch mark queen, I've got them everywhere (seriously, I have two ugly ones on my right shoulder!) I'm not overweight either. I got some when I was going through puberty on my boobs and hips and the rest came during my pregnancies. My mom has them too so I suppose they can be hereditary. Thanks mom!

What are BS and ACV? Either I've forgotten or I've never known! I've tried going from shampoo & conditioner to Bronner's & coconut oil before (for a few months at a time) but my hair just goes wild. Water only sounds interesting...never heard of that method before.

Thanks!

BS=baking soda and ACV=apple cider vinegar. This is the routine I use as well. There's lots of good info on it over in the natural health and beauty forum.

Retin A is supposed to help with stretch marks. I'm guessing that the active ingredient is some form of vitamin A? So it might help to load up on vit A. And vits D and K2 to protect against toxicity. And C (for collagen). Don't forget the B's, though, and I bet plenty of minerals couldn't hurt...

I've read stretch marks, whenever they occur in life, are often a zinc issue (a lack, I mean). Mine are not attractive, and I have no suggestions on fixing the situation--my most recent pregnancy was almost two and a half years ago and they're still obvious. I'll keep lurking for ideas on what to do _after_ they're already an issue.

That makes so much sense to me. I know I'm zinc deficient and DH has them too from just the smallest weight gain and he has had extreme zinc deficiency in the past and now.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I was really hoping this diet might do magic though . I'm feeling hopeful about the hair oil though. This winter I might try going water only again when I can get away with wearing a hat indoors during transition. I do feel like it has lessened a bit from a year ago, but still pretty oily.

:-) This made me smile, that is so me. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I'm even embarrassed to let DH see me topless anymore.

I'm lucky to have a DH with marks too, so I don't feel bad at all about him seeing them. However, I'm scared to death of a shirt that might lift up too far when I raise my arms!

The whole thing was a shock to me really. My mom didn't get them, and I didn't even really know what they were till pregnancy. When I was about 3 months along my dad told me make sure I didn't gain a bunch of weight and get stretch marks. Way to make me feel like crap, Dad :. I didn't even gain a pound over what I was told to. Probably all thanks to complete lack of knowlege of a real diet. Low fat veggie diets are probably the best way to get them!

Wondering if anyone knows if eating a collagen rich broth like pigs feet broth will help with stretch marks.

Also I know a belly dancer who has really deep marks. She teaches this goddess style belly dance and she says that stretch marks tell your place among the people, they show that you are a mother and that you brought forth life. Really, her stretch marks, though they are deep, don't show ugliness, they are some how kind of cool on her. I believe it is her attitude about them that makes them that way.
