and got up and got everyone off to where they needed to be and me to work. The morning started off with a grouchy sleepy mommy, but ...

40 weeks today. My OB did a membrane sweep yesterday and I started having contractions 10 minutes apart. They were down to 6-7 minutes for over 2 hours but never would get down to 5. Then they slowly crept back up to 10 minutes. I got no sleep, only a few minutes between contractions. Now that I'm up and awake I haven't felt one in 20 minutes.
I'm going to cry! ![]() |
Rest up! You may need that energy later.

I also have a zucchini bread recipe that I'm looking forward to trying. I'd been hoping to wait until early labor to bake it, but if I run out of things to keep me occupied I'll just make a batch or two today and then will bake a 3rd batch, or perhaps make some brownies, when I'm in early labor. - nk |

Diamond Lil -did you get 'swept' the other day? I was wondering how you are doing.
And who said that about the Roseanne episode with Jackie saying she had a 3 day old baby inside of her? That has been cracking me up ever since. I even use it on people who are bugging me about being past my edd. "Yeah, I know, I have a 5 day old baby inside me" and it freaks them out and they laugh uncomfortably. It's great! |

WALK!!!!! With #2 my mw swept my membranes and told me to go walking. It was November in Wisconsin, so I took my husband, older son, and a few friends to the mall. I told them we were all walking the mall until I had a baby right there at the Santa picture stand (LOL!!). We walked for five hours, and nothing -- not a single contraction. We went home, and I sat in the recliner for a bit. I stood up and WHAM my water broke!

: walk walk walk.......I went to Calgary and walked 4 hours at the zoo......ok lots of resting too and next day 2 hours walking.......labor started 430 am that morning........mr j arrived 345pm (long because the cord was wrapped around his leg)......mind you, labor was not the intention.....was 37 weeks.....sorry am typing one hand/one finger.....
Although, as I've now tied up pretty much all of the loose ends and things I wanted to get done before the birth, I too feel like I'm "running out" of things to do. Making food is probably a good idea... Taking walks, reading, making some art... We'll see how long I will need to "occupy" myself. Anyway - it's also a blessing to just have this time where I can feel totally at ease - I'm able to relax and rest and just focus on the impending birth and new being of light coming into our life!
Just a couple more weeks at most.
