Struggling in Eugene

Hi there. I just moved to Eugene from Salem. I have a beautiful 10 month old. Recently, we have decided that I will stay home with DS and DH will work. I am a teacher by training but love being home with DS. When I lived in Salem, I didn't have much of a support group as all my friends from work did not want kids. (Seriously, 5 close girlfriends-most married-none wanted kids) All of my family is back east and I am feeling pretty alone. I have been having major sleep issues with DS and am getting terribly cranky with my own sleep deprivation. I just need a friend I guess. Someone who is going through the same thing. Or has been there. Anyway...looking for some mamas in Eugene to hang out with, go to the park, whatever...just another mommy! Anybody out there?

keep bumping this; eugene mamas only seem to check here sporadically

i think there's a yahoo eugene mama group?

dd is usually in daycare but they're closed next week, so we'd love to meet you for a park date

i'm in the college hill area

i also know a couple other teacher/former teacher mamas who i might be meeting up with next week for a mama's happy hour. if you're interested, let me know and i'll let you know if/when we're getting together

I am in Eugene! I have an 11mo baby girl and also a 16 dd, 10 ds and 3 ds. My 3yo goes back to school on September 3rd and I will definitely be up for some playdates after that. I also have the local LLL meeting here at my house it is the second monday of the month. Feel free to pm me for the information.

I am sorry you are feeling alone. I know there is a yahoo group for Eugene mamas and they get together pretty regularly. I haven't joined them yet.

11am is right in the middle of nap time (at least this week ) I can come a little later-around 1pm or earlier around 8:30-9am. Does that work for anyone?
How about the other mamas who responded...boadhagh and kalamos23? Work for you?

I could do more around noon or 12:30 but not much later because then I am getting into nap time.

I won't be able to come this week as DH's car is in the shop, so he has mine. There is a slight possibility that I could come if DH works from home Thursday, or if we get the car back sooner, but not likely. Maybe I'll see you all next week?

I live in Springfield. I have an 18month-old DD and would love to compare sleep deprivation notes with you

I think I will be in Portland this Thursday, but would be up for a meet up next week if you want. When does your LO nap?

Oh, and I have been meaning to go to a LLL meeting, I'll PM you Wendi.

Why don't you kep your original time plan with Danielle. Our naps and nights have been really weird this week. Maybe he's getting another tooth, growth spurt...I don't know -but we have been so inconsistent. I'll try to be there after 11 like originally planned-if not-I will meet up with you ladies next week hopefully! Thanks!

Eleanor has a cold, so we are laying low at the house. Maybe she'll feel a little better tomorrow.
