Any COOL looking baby knit patterns

Im looking to make the baby on the way a few things..

mitts
hats
booties

and im having a huge issue with the patterns im finding! I really am not a ruffle person and I just cant find anything I like.

i really just want simple that i can make look neat with my choice of yarn! HELP?

And this book has a cute pair I just tried last night. It calls for angora but I used patons classic merino and they came out pretty cool. It's worth checking you library for it.

Also, are you on Ravelry? They're a great source for finding knitting patterns that suit your tastes. I've knit a bunch of stuff for the babe and most of the patterns were found on Rav.

I really like the booties that look like Chuck Taylor's! I'll have to look for the pattern. Someone on Etsy sells it. She also has a Mary Jane bootie pattern. The hats in Itty Bitty Hats are super cute, too.
