The Mysterious Benedict Society

Anyone read this (or read it with their kids?) My 9-year-old and I are both reading it on our own, and I may use it as a read-aloud later this year.

I'd love your thoughts on it.

My 8 year old read it and loved it. She's partway through the sequel right now and tells me I should read them both.

More information about the book please?...
I remember looking at it, what is it about?

I loved it. There's a sequel, too, which I've also read.

More info on the book here:

I've been reading a lot of middle grade/YA fiction lately. I also highly recommend Lois Lowry's The Willoughby's (a great send-up of middle grade lit), the Gregor the Overlander series, Cornelia Funke's The Thief Lord, and The True Meaning of Smekday (riotously funny). I just started the Charlie Bone series.

I am reading it to my boys --ages 8 & 6---and I think I enjoy it as much as they do-----

I've finished it and DD (9) read part of it (she has a book report due every two weeks this year, so her pleasure reading is pretty limited at this point).

DD's friend (also 9) loved it and the sequel.
