Well, it's been a while since I had a chance to post.
I did have an EDD of September 30, 2008, so I had initially been posting there.
Someone had other ideas, though, it seems.
Woke up around 4:45 am on Monday, August 18 in severe pain. Had no idea what was going on, really, which scared the devil out of me. At around 5:00 am, my water broke. DH had me at the ER (at a hospital without an OB department) by around 5:30. This was after I had called around to the hospital and nurse hotline to make sure something bad wasn't happening.
I figured out that Matthew was coming when the ER doc on duty came in to check me and could feel the baby's head. He called in his wife, also a doctor, who checked me and immediately said "Jesus Christ!" because she thought she was about to have to deliver him. They debated for a bit and then decided to send me by ambulance to my regular hospital (with the OB). I was in the ambulance by 6:30 am. The female doctor rode with me just in case they had to pull over to deliver him.
Got to the hospital and was wheeled into the Labor and Delivery Room. At around 7:35am DH stepped out of the room to, once again, try to let my parents know I was in labor. After all that fast driving, that meant he was outside at 7:39am when Matthew was born. (Apparently, my mother-in-law was laughing at me because I made some sort of Indian warcry during the final pushing.)
Overall, everything went fine. Only around 3 hours of labor, and it was completely natural. Everything went too fast for them to even offer me drugs, lol. We went home on time Wednesday, which surprised the hospital staff since he was 6 weeks early. I figure it must be genetics since I was 6 weeks early and my mom was, too.
Going back to the doctor today since he has jaundice. Gonna see if he's bad enough to go under the lamps, but if he is, it won't be for more than a couple of hours most likely.
And there are pics and more coming.
