PCOS and low supply?

A friend of mine suggested I might have PCOS b/c of the IGT I think I have and low supply issues. I don't have the main sx for PCOS that I normally think about though, no af, infertility, etc, but I do have quite a few of the other ones on a list I found online. I'm really trying to nip this in the bud since we were suprisingly blessed w/ another baby. I would LOVE more than anything to ebf a baby. What have other PCOS moms done to help? My friend suggested looked into taking metformin while pg if I can find a DR to help. I have a bfing medicine specialist here I've seen before for my supply problems and once AJ is back in school on the 2nd, I'm going to make an appt to go see her and talk about this. I've also seen on here that some moms take goat's rue while pg w/ good results. W/ Ilana I tried all the normal herbs and pumping, nothing helped. I obviously need more and I want to start it ASAP to give me the best shot at ebf.

I believe Goat's Rue helps with supply issues as well as blood sugar regulation. Same with fenugreek, but check with an herbalist on that.

I stayed on my metformin my entire pregnancy and since I've been breastfeeding. There are a few studies out there that have suggested that regulating your insulin levels will help increase supply. Until breastfeeding was firmly established, I also pumped on each side for 10-15 minutes after my little one ate to make sure I was increasing my supply to make it easier for him.

It took some work and loss of sleep initially, but now 15 months strong.

I *believe* don't quote me....that you need to be on at least 1000 mg of metformin for it to be effective.

You would need to see an endocrinologist or a reproductive endocrinologist to test for PCOS.
