Help!!New macbook pro,what should I do?

I woke up this morning and turned on my beautiful new macbook pro and there were gray (looked like search lights coming up from the bottom of the screen) I googled what was wrong and someone suggested turning it on and back off. So I did that and it fixed it.

Anyone had this happen? What did you do? did i do something wrong?

Oh and i figured out what the spots were at the top of the page. the stars showing through from the screen. i think its suposed to be like that i just didnt see it yesterday.

UPDATE: i went to apples web site and went to the chat rooms. I guess many people are having this problem. Now I dont know what to do. If this is a problem that will only happen some of the time and i can fix with restarting then no big deal I guess. But if it is going to get worse, then i'm worried. I can still send it back if i send it right now. But im not sure i want to. this is the only problem, everything else I love. Please, send me a message if you have any information. You can send me a private message if you dont want to post on here. I need to send it back soon if i'm going to.

Those spots are indicating that those programs are active. Turn the program off and the spots will disappear, turn the program back on and the spots are back. And if the dock is on the side, they are less glowy and more like white dots.

And breathe.

I just went to go eat breakfast and put it in sleep when i was gone. When I came back and turned it on grey search lights were back. (grey streaks coming up from the bottom of the page)

The white spots in the (toolbar?) is that what it is called? They are not behind file or any thing like that, they are just little random white spots up at the top of the screen. edit:figured out what this is just stars from the screen showing through. think its suposed to be like that.

I took some deep breaths like you said and it helped. I love my macbook pro. All will be worked out.

Has anyone had any problems like these? What did you do? Will i have to send it back to get fixed?

Ok,I took some deep breaths and two cal mag supplements (my chill pills) Much better now. Sorry I freaked out guys. I tend to be wound a little tight sometimes. Ok,wound a lot tight sometimes. :

I think i figured out the little white dots on the tool bar. I think they are stars from the screen that just show through the tool bar? I guess i just didn't see them yesterday. One of them lines up with one of the stars on the screen.

Still having the grey searchlight thing though. It seems to happen when the computer has been turned off or in sleep and then turned back on. But turing it off and on again fixes it. So,that is no big deal because it only takes a few seconds to turn it off and then back on. Would still like to hear from anyone who has had this problem or knows anything about it.

Hope I didn't freak anyone out about buying a mac. I love my macbook pro bunches!!! It's just that one tiny thing and that might not be a problem at all. might just be something I'm doing wrong.

You'll be fine. It just takes a little while to get used to.

I <3 my macbook pro too.

Click on the APple, then System Preferences then Display. See where is says Resolutions, try adjusting that, I have mine on the very bottom one. There shouldn't be any stars showing through, and that might help with the search lights you are seeing.

Have you tried the support forums at Apple.com? You'll get more specialists there and people who have seen almost everything.

click the button on the keyboard that has an apple on it, then the "c" so that you are holding both down at the same time.

If you have an old mouse, you can plug that in, too and use it how you would normally use a mouse.

it should be the button next to your space bar. with a funny symbol and maybe the word "cmd" or a picture of an apple.

The apple should be the buttons on each side of the space bar.

For me to copy & paste this is what I do. I highlight the text I want to copy & then I hold down the contol key and click the mouse. Then I select copy or paste.
Did you get a mouse with your macbook because having a mouse is so much easier than the pad thingy, at least imo.

when I turned my computer back on just now everything was fine. so,it might have just been a one time thing. I'm pretty sure i'm going to go ahead and keep it but would still like information about this if anyone knows anything about it.
