Help! Question about vax/schools

So we just moved. I went to the school to pre-register in July. I gave them my 6 yr old's vax records all fine. I also gave them my 4 yr olds records - he had them all except the ones he needs after he turns 4.

Well school is about to start. They want my 4 yr old up to date. Well we are not vaxing anymore. We have to do religious exemption.

Will they accept it? I already gave them most of the record? We are in South Carolina and don't think they have a registry? What do you think - that I'll be ok?

Also, we need to find a doctor. Do I just call and ask them all if they support non-vax patients? If we have another they won't be vaxed at all. I want to find someone who thinks more like us.

Here is where you can go to read your laws:

Here is where you can go to get your religious exemption:

Just tell them, or put in your exemption papers, that your religious beliefs have "evolved and grown" in such a way that vaccines are not an option anymore. Should work just fine!

Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who would tell you you're not allowed to change 'religions'.

In SC you have to go to the Health Dept and get an exemption, which has to be notarized. My suggestion is to go in and just get the form. The statute doesn't say you can't get it notarized outside of the health dept. See the attached link:

I've had friends that have experienced SC exemptions. Your religion is personal, remember that. Do you live near the NC border? If you do, I know some non-vax friendly doctors.

Thanks everyone! We went to pick up the form today. And I'll write on the bottom how our views have changed. The school told me that he'll not be allowed to come if there is a chicken pox outbreak but that is one shot he had when he was younger so wonder if they could still stop him...hmm...

And yes we do live on the NC border on the coast...please forward someone if you know...thanks!

Now to go find a notary....

Update:

Dh took the form in totoday. A couple of the nurse comments were "Why did you chose this" "We don't see this" and "we'll see what we can do" in a not positive attitude.

The whole thing just upsets me. Why should we even get questioned?

Sorry, I didn't get back to you. The doctors that I know of are closer to the Charlotte/SC border. However, if there is a chiropractor in your area, call them and tell them you do not vax and are looking for a friendly doctor. They may know one, especially if they have children. A chiropractor may tend to be a non-vaxer or anti-vax by the school they attended, ie. Life or Sherman.

Funny you say that - my husband is a chiro. A new graduate of Palmer.

So our views have changed since he's been in school and now of course leans towards wellness. We have moved to a new area and that is why finding a medical dr is frustrating. He doesn't think we need one at all but I think we do.

What do they say about vaccinations at Palmer?
