Breastfeeding a toddler with a very shallow latch

I swear I have posted about this before, but now I can't find the post so...I guess I'll just do it again.

My two year old is still nursing -badly. Her latch has degraded to something so shallow there are teeth marks on my areola every single time-and I have tiny nipples/areola. She is literally only taking in about 1/4" of breast. I can't imagine she's getting much milk that way but she INSISTS on doing it very often. Several times during the day (all for LONG stretches, she's not a get in and get out kind of nurser) and then long stretches before nap and before bed. I AM GOING OUT OF MY MIND. It's been like this for months and I CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!! I am so frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her latch is just so, so, so awful. When I ask her to open her mouth wide she says, "NO I DON'T WANT TO!" She just wants to gnaw on me. It's been so bad I've tried to wean her several times but it was such a nightmare I gave up.

What can I do? I want to practice child led weaning, but I have to admit, that this is beyond miserable and has been beyond miserable for 6+ months. I've been nursing for over three and a half years, much of that in pain (through a pregnancy). HOW MUCH MORE CAN ONE MOTHER TAKE?

Subbing because my toddlers latch has become TERRIBLE. Add thrush to the mix and I am a desperate Mama to fix it before I go insane. Interested to see any solutions people might have for shallow latch.
