Anyone heard of these ATL-area midwives?

I'm considering who to choose as a midwife (though not planning to be PG again for a while!), and it looks like my insurance doesn't cover Margaret/Kay at Isis So, has anyone heard anything about these midwives that my insurance co. does cover?

Kaprice Welsh
Amy Kayler
Judy Fielder

I haven't heard of them. I would call ISIS and see if maybe they would consider trying to get on your insurance... worth a shot right?

did you check to see if dr. fredericks was covered? sometimes they don't list the midwives separately...

Hmm, good idea, worth giving Isis a call, I agree. No, Dr. Fredericks wasn't listed either...Bummer.

They practise at Northside Women's Specialists. I go to them for my preg#2 now.

I haven't seen Judy Fielder yet, but the other 3 are nice. Amy did my post partum the next day with DD1 and Kaprice stictched me up after my 2nd degree tear. She didn't deliver her though since DD came out too fast
They will respect what you want, but you need to know what you want. If you are looking for them for guidance about a natural birth, etc, they might not be the best bet. But if you know have a good birth plan and you know you want no intervention, they will help you towards it.

I saw Amy several years ago before I was TTC. When I realized that they didn't deliver at North Fulton, I switched practices. Amy seemed nice enough but I knew that I would want a waterbirth and also that I didn't want to deliver at Northside.
