Fun at the Car Seat Inspection Station!

Thread Starter
So, today I drove by a car seat inspection station, and I stopped in to get my two seats checked. The Scenera that was installed by a tech had come a bit loose, but the Comfort Sport that I had installed was rock solid! I am ditching the seat soon, but it was so reassuring to know that I had done a great install. I am always nervous about getting them in tightly enough.

The techs were also so happy to see DS still RF'ing, and my plans to keep him RF'ing to the limits of his seat.

: Happy Day!! :

I was excited about my car seat inspection, where they approved my install
It feels good to KNOW that you're doing it right

I went to one the other weekend and I talked the instructors ear off about seats and safety that she wants me to take the class next Spring.

I went, because I wasn't understanding when/if it was okay to use the locking clip.

Funny, b/c I was at at car seat inspection event yesterday, too! Overall, very positive experience. She was amazed that I had read the manual and understood about rf tethering, etc. Well, duh. Why wouldn't you read the manual?? But obviously, lots don't. Anyway, she gave me the rf speech and was really happy to know that I was already planning on rfing to the seat's limit.

This was a bit of vindication b/c I had had a disagreement with another friend who was proudly proclaiming that she had already turned her barely 20 pound 1 yr old (like a year and a day!). I had told her not to do it, but she said her ped said she should, and was surprised she hadn't already. WTF?? Anyway, I sent her an email today and couldn't resist mentioning what I learned at the inspection event

This should help, Justthatgirl: http://www.seatcheck.org/

I had to fight a tech and counter his misinformation when I went to have DD's new seat installed after an accident. She was 15 months old and no where near the weight limit for rear-facing, and he had NO IDEA why ANYONE would want to keep a kid rear-facing after age 1. Thankfully, the other tech he was working with was very supportive and said "I was going to jump in and help you out, but you really researched all this!" I learned it all on MDC!
