Have you started your Christmas knitting? - Page 4

I finally found the second page to the sock pattern, and I finished up my daughter's socks. I made my mom's scarf and my other SIL's scarf, and I made my BIL's juggling balls today (I need to sew up a bag for them tomorrow). I need to finish my hubby's scarf, make a scarf for a friend, and make ds's "chain mail" hood. I'd like to get another couple of pairs of socks made, but I don't think it'll happen. I'm getting done with my crocheting/knitting, but I still have a lot of sewing to do!

You ladies are making my head spin...ok, it was already spinning! Wow! I'm so impressed. I'm only knitting two afghans this Christmas- one's done and one I started tonight (Dec. 11). Blankets are my favorite thing to do, so I give them at Christmas, graduations, marriage. They're just so snuggly. And, who doesn't like to snuggle?

My family draws names, so I only have one person to buy/make for. I'm putting together a "long winter's night" kit, with a blanket, a couple interesting teas, hot cocoa powder, and her favorite snack. All those things go with either watching movies or reading. And, she's really into reading right now (age 13). I'm pretty excited.

The other blanket is for my MIL, so it's just a boring cream color. I want it to look good with her living room, to encourage her to use it and leave it out. But, I'm using a cool pattern, does that count? My husband is worried I'll stress myself out. Now, where did he get that idea? ;] He's getting his mother an engine heater for the car- and will install it for her when we visit.

I'm modifying my list...just not enough time left !

DS - Bear Slippers (done), Teddy bear (done), Cardigan with train buttons (removed from Christmas list...I promise to get it done by Easter )
DH - Knit Daleck http://www.entropyhouse.com/penwiper...termaknit.html (ugh, still not done
Mom - Crotchet grocery bag (done)
MIL - Crotchet grocery bag (done)
Friend's DD - Dinosaur and egg (done)
Sis - washcloth for homemade spa kit (done)
2 Nephews - each getting slippers in the color of their favorite teams (removed from my list - I broke down and bought them skateboards to encourage them to be more active - I couldn't believe how much weight they gained this year, when I saw them at Thanksgiving!)
SIL - Knitted slippers with embroidered flowers (done)

So that just leaves my husband's gift...<sigh>...I'll never get it done at this rate!

How is everybody doing?

I'm just about done...I need to be too, since we're celebrating Christmas with the whole family this weekend. For DH I decided to make a smaller Daleck loosely based on the pattern posted in my previous post. It's nearly done. : I just have to stuff it and knit up the base. I am so happy that I managed to make it for DH. The other pattern would have been cool, though, but it was just taking too long with my limited time. Depending on if I have the time, I might also knit a bath scrubby for my sister's spa kit...we'll see.

I've finished a basic scarf and three Buffalo Sabres toques so far. I've also started DH's brown Irish Hiking Scarf (which I think will be really nice), but nowhere near done yet.

Take care,
El

I totally slacked with moving twice and being pregnant and tired all the time and I did not knit one single gift this year

ok, so I am knitting dh a pair of socks. First one is done, second needs to be started.
I knit 4 strawberries with loops on the end and stuffed them with some potpurri from mountain rose herbs and wool batting.
I am knitting ds 1 a dead fish hat from knitty.com Already started.
I am going to knit myself a leaf hat from knitty.com as well. I made one last year but accidentally made it too long and gave it away.

I also need to make a christmas dress for dd, and start some mittens for MIL. Ds wants a eye mask for sleeping. I want to make some tiny ornaments too.

The scarf sounds beautiful, good luck with it.

I've come a long way (for me)

Merry , Merry everyone!

I think I'm done, but I have enough time to do something else, and I can't figure out what. I have a mental block:

DS1: crochet chain mail hood DONE
Mom: Crochet lacy scarf DONE
Granddad: A Scarf Askew DONE
Aunt: Ribbed scarf with ruffle DONE
MIL: Neck warmer/cowl DONE and given already.
Me: Noro Iro one-row scarf DONE

Not very exciting, I know. Hmm, would love to make some little yamaguchi or whatever they're called, animals for the kids. I don't want to go out and buy more yarn for that, though. Dishcloths...Hat for somebody...I just don't know. I'll go back and reread everyone's lists here for some inspiration.

I'm STILL working on dh's scarf. I don't think it's going to get done, but we'll see.
