how do you pumping moms do it day after day?!

utter respect.

circumstances dictate i need a job, if i ever want to buy my own house and get away from this crappy area i need a job, my dream job location is rectuiring temporary w/a vew for perminant. the hours are between 8am-10pm, i would give my left leg to work there (yo! sushi) so i have an application form, going to fill in a nd tak back next week.

so i have started trying to get a supply of milk for DD2 when she is in daycare/childminders if/when i get a job. so far i am not doing very well

i got 38ml this morning and that took me 30 mins and had DD2 helping, yesterday i wasted 1 1/2 oz and day before i got 2/3oz tht is in freezer.

i am taking fenugreek ut only on day 2 so hopefully that will help. i have always been bad at getting much out with the pump. any more ideas how i can get a better supply. DD2 is 11 months and eats a good amount of table foods but still nurses a lot even 2-3 times at night and nurses to sleep, tho she can sleep with out if i am not around.

thanks

are you drinking plenty of water? Increasing your liquid intake and the fenugreek should help. Also, relax while pumping and don't watch the bottle that was the suggestion of my doula. Hope that helps!

First off, it sounds like you're adding a pumping in between nursings and you're not working yet. Maybe I read this wrong but, if that is the case, it'll take a while for your supply to ramp up. Also, it sounds like you're not getting a good let down as opposed to having a supply problem. It's hard to work up the mojo but keep working at it. Try soft music, dim lights, visualizations ( I would literally try to envision my LO nursing while I pumped), even a recording of your DD crying. Keep trying until you find what works. You may not need fenugreek but, if you do, you need to take a lot of it. Keep adding until your sweat and urine smell like maple syrup (gross I know). It generally takes 2-3 tablets 3x/day to get a result.

I also wanted to add that my DD doesn't even want milk when I'm away at this point (this started around 13-14 months, before that, she drank a LOT). She just waits until I get home and eats food or drinks water in the meantime. I finally weaned myself from the pump as a result.

Best of luck to you.
