Tickets

I know it might not help alot but there is a 'group' discount if everyone wants to get together to get discount tickets if there are a bunch of us it may only be a few dollars but you don't have to use all the tickets on the same weekend. Just a thought.

We've been twice and just had so much fun. My parents took my sis and I to Renaissance Fairs when we were growing up in NY and Kansas City, MO! I like to continue the tradtion with my children.

I am hoping to take the kids this Sunday but am checking the weather first!
Besides the ticket you get, do you know any place to pick up discount coupons, etc? Hope to see you there...

Thanks, Kim

P.S. I notice the chair that your dh is sitting in (in pic link) is from the faire! Oh, so comfy.

I disagree that most of the performers are not paid.

Anyone who is a performer, chooses to be there, paid or not. Many of the performers are paid well, depending on who they are in the cast. Some performers are part of the apprentice program, and are schooled in the ways of outdoor theater, and leave having KRF on their resume. All performers have signed a contract, and have agreed to the terms. You would not believe the amount of people who would jump at the chance to come and work at KRF and not get paid, I get asked about that all the time by folks. They just want to "be" there every day and work gigs in the street.

The Faire's money goes into running the thing, and it is very expensive. Trust me, I know since I own a business there. The working staff is in the hundreds, from the flaggers in the parking lot, the police details, the EMT's on site and all the local kids who get jobs working in the food booths. The land the faire is on is not owned by the faire, it is rented. Insurance for a public event is astronomically expensive. There is electricity, food, water, outdoor bathrooms and more.
