Bar Soap

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a bar soap for the shower. My DH will not use DIY products. So I need something natural and good, and not expensive.

What are the best ingredients to look for - that clean, and some kind of antibacterial?

The soaps with a "0" on cosmeticdatabase.com have such varied ingredients.

Thanks, Ana

I love this soap...they're all natural and smell wonderful! Handle Bar is naturally antiseptic and antifungal:

Two things -

I like that site, the prices look pretty good.

The comment about the DH not using DIY made me smile because mine is the same way. He has come around to the homemade cleaning products but he refused to use the homemade body wash and bar soap (I purchased the bar soap)

Have you tried Dr. Bonner's? Not cheap though. I like the tea tree and lavender soaps.

My DH uses icky stuff, too. He uses homemade cleaning stuff, eats what I buy, but doesn't care about the personal body care stuff. I ended up just going out and getting a shampoo bar and body bar for him and asked him to just try it. I said if he didn't like it that was fine, but to just try it. He ended up liking both. The ones we got were the Mud and Clay shampoo bar from Chagrin Valley and the Patchoulli Herb body bar from Chagrin Valley. Now I'm trying to use a local lady so I haven't ordered any from CV for a while, but he's willing to try this lady's stuff.

Dr Bronners'... We get it from Lucky Vitamin for $2.82 a bar. It lasts our family 2 adults at least 3 weeks a bar, probably more. If you buy more than three at a time the proce starts to go down. I have used the almond, peppermint, and Eucalyptus. I can't wait to try some of the other kinds. $5.95 flat rate shipping and free over $100, you can't beat it!

Is Lucky Vitamin a mail order web site? I could stock up for $100!
