I'm looking for a LLL that has some babies in the 3-6 month range. I would like to meet moms / babies at our same stage. Any thoughts?
Any other ideas for where to meet other breastfed, cosleeping, babywearing young babies / moms welcome as well
Thanks.

How North of Atlanta are you? I'm in Monroe(more NE of ATL), and we frequent the meetings in Athens and just started attending them in Conyers as well.

Check out this link for the closest meeting near you: http://www.lllofga.org/areamap.htm#S...Atlanta%20Area

I'm in north Fulton / Sandy Springs / Dunwoody area. I have been to one local LLL, but there unfortunately are no babies in our age group at this particular LLL. So, I'm looking for one that is better suited for us - with babies in the 3-6 month range.
Thanks

We have had at least one baby in that range at our meetings recently - LLL Kennesaw/Acworth. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the First United Lutheran Church, behind KSU. It's about three-four blocks off 75 at exit 271 - don't know if that's too far for you to drive or not! We'd love to have you, though!

Hi Lovingmybaby! I am a breast feeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing Mom of an 11 week old I live in Duluth. I've been once to the LLL meeting in Suwanee, but that is probably a little too far for you. There is a breast feeding Moms meeting at Northside Hospital's medical building and there were a lot of Moms with babies in the 3-6 mth range. I've only been to that meeting once as well, but liked it more than LLL. You don't have to have had your baby at Northside. I had mine at N Fulton and no one cared. All of the Moms breast feed but I'm not so sure about the co-sleeping and baby wearing. They seemed a little more "main stream".
I'm also looking to meet some more Moms with babies in that same age range, so maybe we can get a group together.

I go to the Acworth/Kennesaw LLL, too! My youngest is 9 months, though. Might also check out:

Hey, there!

Congrats on your new little one! Have you tried the LLL of Dunwoody? There are lots of babies here (some around your baby's age... plus, new moms come in all the time) and I'm sure you can find a playgroup with one of us.

The API group in N. Fulton is great, too. I 2nd the suggestion!!

Also, the group that 'bellydance' mentioned is a breastfeeding group, but there's definitely a mix of parenting styles... from gentle parenting to CIO.

If you're interested, there's a breastfeeding listserv support group of moms called Atlanta Area Breastfeeding Support (link is in my sig) that focuses on breastfeeding through Attachment Parenting, too.

take care!

Thanks for writin, Bellydance! Congratulations on your 11 week old

I have been to this Northside group that meets at Dunwoody Methodist. Is that the one? When I went, it seemed like all the moms wanted to talk about was how to pump enough milk so the could go on vacation without their newborn baby! I'm sure there are some crunchy moms there as well - just probably not the majority.

Getting a group together sounds good. It is kind of seeming like there are not too many 3-6 month old babies that are like us.

Also, what was the Suwanee LLL like as far as baby ages?

Dunwoody LLL

I think you went recently and two of the moms were going away (their kids were both rapidly approaching a year).

There are a large number of mothers, myself included, who are natural family living minded.

Was this the breatfeeding group that meets at Dunwoody United Methodist off Mt. Vernon? If so, this is more of a mainstream group of breastfeeding moms that Northside Hospital sponsors. The LLL of Dunwoody meets at Kingswood United Methodist.
