Wow. So weird. I'm typin' away and all of a sudden it just posted, but my screen didn't change. Huh. Haunted computer?
Anywho...I'm a sahm that homeschools and this is very important to me/us. I'm also a student myself right now. But I need money. I currently am doing child care for three kids, but in another week two of them go back to school
:. I've known about this for forever, but time somehow got away from me this summer and I have not made plans to replace the $120 a week I'm losing. I'm going to only have them after school instead of all day. My options, as I see them are :
- get a job on the weekends when my dc are at their dads. Pros - I'll make the money i need. Cons - I'll have to work two long days after working 5 days doing child care for a baby and going to school. Essentially no time off. Also, weekends are the only time dp and I get to spend any real time together because during the week he works long hours. Dp's kids spend the day with us on Sunday so this would mean that I would not get to see them and that would suck.
- pursue my party business (i'm a romance consultant) like crazy. So far I've only gotten sporadic parties, but I haven't done much advertising. The parties I've done have been pretty kick but as far as the money goes, I'd be able to do one 2 hour party a week and cover all the costs associated with the party (gas, hostess gift, materials...) and still make what I'm going to be missing, assuming the parties continue to sell as much as they have been. Pros - working 2 hours a week when the kids are away, being able to have most of the weekend free. Cons - it's not a for sure bet. If it falls through...well, it just can't. I won't have the money for rent.
- get certified to do respite for cp kids. There's a major need in the area and with the certification they pay $10 an hour. Pros - being home with my kids while making money. Cons - it makes me nervous. I've never watched kids with big special needs before and I guess some of them have a hard time meshing with other kids (because I guess many of them have other issues like sensory stuff, ocd...that sort of thing) I'm not sure the chaos of our house with so many people going in and out all the time will be ideal.
- look into online personal assistant jobs. Pros - I hear they pay well. Cons -I don't know much about it.
Help me out folks! I only have a week to decide!!

ETA -- any additional ideas are welcome and encouraged!
