PP AF can occur with no ovulation?

Is it true that you can have your period post partum but still not have ovulated and that you can continue to have your period without ovulating if you are still breastfeeding?

Yes, this is true. One woman on another board who works with women to teach them LAM (suppression of ovulation while nursing) said that this tends to happen with women who are estrogen dominant. They also tend to get their pp af back very early and many of those periods tend to be anovulatory. Also, having anovulatory periods isn't something exclusive to nursing moms.

Yes, you can have a PP AF with no ovulation. I usually start charting again once I get my first PP AF to see if I am ovulating as well. My temps are all over the place so I know that I am not ovulating. When I start ovulating, my temps normalize and fall into a pattern. AF does not guarantee that you are fertile but it is a good sign. Sometimes things get tricky and it is hard to tell whether or not you are ovulating with during cycles, which is why I am expecting #4 in December.

I don't know about PP, but my AF's since January have all been anovulatory, so it's possible to have periods and cycles (albeit relatively irregular at 14 to 40 days long) without ovulating.
