I have been to the Isis Maternity at Arlington Center a few times now, and it seems like a really cool area. I went to the Playtime Arts/Crafts store x the street from Isis - very cool! - and saw some great restaurants around. Also, an entrance to the rail-to-trail Minuteman Bikeway. Someone give me some good excuses to go there again (with my toddler)!

The Regent Theater does family performances - two of our favorites play there, you just missed SteveSongs, but Ben Rudnick will be back in December.

There is a nice toy store, Henry Bear's Park, on Mass Ave across from the library. And check out the library, as I remember there are statues and fountains in the side/back yard.

The bike path, which runs from Somerville to Bedford, is great but can get very busy on nice days/weekends.

Restaurants! There was a wonderful little Indian place in the Heights that, sadly, closed. But there's a Thai place in the Heights, a great Mexican place on Broadway (I think), and lots of restaurants in the Center - Indian, Argentinian steakhouse, there's a great little restaurant with maybe 8 tables owned by a female chef but I can't remember the name, and lots of other great places. I moved away from Arlington several years ago, so I've forgotten many names of restaurants, but there are some great ones. Oh, I just remembered there's a terrific northern Italian place. Maybe someone else can provide the name. Scutra, maybe?

Scutra is indeed the name of a delicious upscale restaurant in Arlington. I can't say enough good things about the town. Another good find is the Little Fox thrift shop -- cheap, kids-only goods that benefit the town library.
