How long does eczema take to clear?

after the allergen has been removed that is. DS broke out for the first time ever after an egg binge (that I feel very guilty about.. but at least I know now) and I'm wondering what to expect now.

Thanks!

For us, the very next day her skin looked better and it was almost completely normal after a week or two (granted, she'd had a constant, horrible burn-like rash for months, so there was a lot of tissue healing that had to be done).

Was that the 9-egg dinner? You really made me drool when I read that in the other thread. :

For DD, it depends how bad the reaction was. If it's bad, like oozy and crusty bad, it usually takes about 2 days before the crusties go away, and then about 4-5 more days before her skin starts to look normal again. So about a week total I guess.

lol yes! I feel so bad I made him sick - and that he got eczema at all. I feel like if I had more control we could have avoided it completely. Probably not true though so I'm trying not to feel guilty - at least we know now! My I reasoned while chowing down that if I had to give up eggs for the next 3+ years, I might as well have a good last meal. They were organic pastured from my local farmer:

Good to know that it should be around 1-2 weeks max. He was crusty for 2-3 days and now we have red splotches that still feel a little dry. Lets hope they just keep on disappearin'.

Don't feel bad. It's probably really good that you had that many! Otherwise, if you only had an egg or two, you might not have seen a reaction... and then thought they were ok. And then when you started eating eggs again, and noticed a reaction 2 weeks from now, you might not know what it was from. So really, you did the best food trial that anyone could do!!
