Question on difference between Oak Meadow Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Can anyone who has used both Kindergarten and 1st Grade math in OM help me with this question?

My son is 6 yrs. old, and we are starting out our first year of homeschooling with the 1st Grade syllabus, as he is already sounding out letters, figuring out on his own simple addition and subtraction, etc. (even though he has never been through Kindergarten.)

But I still want to do a unit on Number Qualities, leading up to teaching addition and subtraction--just as is typically done in other Waldorf curriculums.

Can anyone tell me if the OM 1st Grade has a Number Qualities section in it too? Or is that only found in the Kindergarten Syllabus?

Thanks!

And FWIW....Yes, I have other Waldorf curriculum books which include it , but I am trying to decide on *just one* to keep and possibly sell some of the others. I also like that Oak Meadow isn't all about teaching through Grimm's Fairy Tales, which make me shudder.

The first week of OM 1st Grade introduces the 4 processes, so no, there is no section on number qualities.

Holy-moly! Nothing like jumping right into math!

If I bought an ultra-cheap copy of the Kindergarten Syllabus, does it contain the stories used to teach the numbers, or do you need the Fairy Tales book too?

By introduce, I mean the stories and gnomes for the processes are introduced.
There is no leap into calculation or other content.
