Today was first day back to school for DS. He turned 16 last week. I've been a Mom for 16 years!!
:
And I slept through him getting off to school this morning.
We have three littles who are homeschooled so I don't HAVE to get up. But I was going to just to see him off. I'm sure he doesn't care, as a matter of fact he was probably happy that we were all sleeping when he got ready and left this morning.
I just feel bad. It's really hitting me this year how fast it's going to go by and he'll be gone.

I know you are disappointed that you missed that annual milestone, but you can feel like a good mom who raised a responsible teen who gets himself up and off. Think how much more eager you will be to greet him when he returns, and he may actually appreciate the reconnect more than he would have appreciated the morning send off.

DS got home and was happy yesterday. Didn't even mention the fact that he got off to school without a goodbye!!
